Tom holds a Certificate in Air Climate Control and Refrigeration from DuPage College and an Associate's Degree in Applied Science. He owned a Commercial Refrigeration Company for four years. He received his Commercial Electricians License in 1987 and launched an Electrical Contracting Business. In 1989, he moved to Georgetown, Texas and opened Norrell Electric. Tom received a Certificate from Imagine Solar in Austin and has installed over 43,000 watts of photovoltaic systems. Tom and his wife Debbie share a three-acre home with their faithful dog Shelia. They harness photovoltaic energy and solar hot water for their energy-efficient foam-insulated home. Their rainwater storage of 11,000 gallons, soon to be 22,000 gallons, waters their raised bed gardens and melon patches, with chickens taking care of the bugs.
