The Story of City Electric
The inception of City Electric in the city of Stephenville in the year 1949 by E.L. Stephens. Mr. Stephens developed the business into a well-respected electrical contractor, quickly earning a reputation for dependability. For 33 years, Mr. Stephens operated the successful enterprise after starting the company. Eventually, Mr. Stephens decided to step back to someone who could maintain the quality and ethics he had built. David Bragg was that individual.

During 1982, Mr. Stephens approached Mr. Bragg to purchase the company. Naturally, David saw this as a golden opportunity to own such a reputable company and jumped at the chance.

In 1986, David recognized that the expanding company needed to expand its reach, so he incorporated the electrical business under the name “Stephenville City Electric, Inc.”.

I relocated to Stephenville to attend Tarleton State University, married, started a family, and made it my home. I consider this town my home, and owning my own business brings me joy. Owning this business has given me opportunities to expand and thrive not only my business but also valuable friendships. We began with electrical services and added Watson Insulation under the same management. I look forward to further growth this year with the introduction of solar energy solutions.
