Mike Short grew up in South and Central Texas, graduating from Halletsville High School in 1968. After his move to Austin, he soon enrolled in IBEW's Electrical Apprentice program, which he completed in 1974, becoming a licensed Journeyman Electrician. He acquired essential experience working with several esteemed contractors in Austin before achieving his Master Electrician license. He married Debi Mayfield in 1976, and they became partners in the daily operations of the business when he opened AC Electric in 1984.
As a family man, Mike Short is involved in his church and community, always on the lookout for ways to assist others.
