The year 1979 marked the founding of Hammond Services by Ed and Barbara Hammond in Griffin, GA. Ed, a retired Air Force veteran, launched the company after completing his studies at Griffin Technical College in HVAC and Electrical fields. Initially, it was a small operation with just two staff members—Ed and Barbara. Their exceptional service soon garnered attention, resulting in a growing team. Jeff Snow, an HVAC technician, was their first hire. Jeff is still with us at Hammond Services. In 1989, they welcomed Wayne Hughes, which enabled them to add plumbing to their HVAC and Electrical services. In 1994, David Hammond, Ed and Barbara's son, became part of the business. He earned his engineering degree in 1982 and spent 12 years with a large corporation before returning to the family business. In 1998, Ed and Barbara retired, and David became the President of Hammond Services.
David obtained his engineering degree in 1982 and went on to work for a significant corporation. During this time, his father retired from the Air Force and established Hammond Services, which grew consistently. David entered the family business in 1994, and his father retired from Hammond Services in 1998.
David relishes the challenges of being a small business owner. He believes in the importance of continuous improvement and enhancing operations. He prioritizes improvement over growth.
