Ed, a retired Air Force veteran, launched the company after completing his studies at Griffin Technical College in HVAC and Electrical fields. Initially, it was a small operation with just two staff members—Ed and Barbara. It didn't take long for their reputation for quality service to attract more employees. Jeff Snow, an HVAC technician, was their first hire. Jeff is still with us at Hammond Services. Wayne Hughes came on board in 1989, allowing them to offer plumbing services in addition to HVAC and Electrical. David Hammond, the son of Ed and Barbara, joined the company in 1994. After obtaining his engineering degree in 1982, he worked for a major corporation for 12 years before joining the family business. David assumed the role of President when Ed and Barbara retired in 1998.
