After graduating high school, Jerry L Martin, the president and license holder, decided to pursue a career in the electrical field, inspired by his uncles. He spent five years in the trade before becoming a licensed journeyman electrician and earning his master electrician's license in 1986. Jerry L Martin, our president and license holder, comes from Highland, Indiana. After his father retired in 1970, the family relocated to Lee County, Florida. He went to Ft Myers Middle School and graduated from Ft Myers High School in 1977. Throughout the years, Jerry has been involved in supporting youth sports in Lee County. He has coached youth soccer for the Cape Coral Soccer Association and youth basketball with the Youth Basketball Association of Lee County (YBA). He also provides support to Bishop Verot High School and its athletic teams.

The secretary/treasurer, Debbie Martin, comes from Elizabethtown, Kentucky. In 1972, her family relocated to Lee County, Florida, because of a job transfer. Debbie graduated from Ft Myers High School in 1979 and holds a BS degree in Finance from the University of South Florida.

In 1980, Jerry and Debbie met and were married in 1982. Their only child, Nick, was born in 1984. In 2003, Nick graduated from Bishop Verot High School and went on to graduate from the University of South Florida in 2008.

I have managed this business for the last 27 years with success. In 1990, I began offering lighting products and repairs under the fire equipment name, and the business continued to expand until I established a new company, West Coast Lighting of SW FL, in January 2001. In 2015, we rebranded to West Coast Electrical & Lighting Services to better represent our current offerings. I have received training in specialized equipment to diagnose electrical problems and have over 25 years of experience in this area. We are the go-to company when others cannot resolve the issue.
