William obtained a degree in Electrical Engineering from Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo. Edward received his degree in Industrial Technology from Cal Poly. The brothers acquired the company from their parents in 1989. Electrical Engineering was integrated into our services in 1981 and has expanded consistently since then. We usually employ between 60 and 70 staff, reaching a high of 150 during a five-story hospital project for Marian Hospital in Santa Maria in 2011. Thoma Electric features divisions dedicated to Electrical Engineering, Major Electrical Construction, Small Electrical Construction, and Electrical Services. “Every project matters, no matter the scale”. We handle projects from start to finish, including design and construction. Our expertise extends to Data/Comm work, copper and fiber installations, solar energy systems, and emergency power solutions. I completed my BS in Industrial Technology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1983. Between 1984 and 1986, I worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at National Semiconductor, specializing in wafer fabrication. I returned to SLO in 1986 to take on the roles of Estimator and Project Manager at Thoma Electric. I now serve as the Company Safety Director and Manager of the Service Plus division, overseeing small to medium electrical projects. We assist with troubleshooting electrical issues and take on small time and material jobs for both homes and businesses.
