William graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree from Cal Poly. Ed completed his BS in Industrial Technology at Cal Poly. In 1989, the sons purchased the business from Clarence and his wife. Electrical Engineering was integrated into our services in 1981 and has expanded consistently since then. We usually employ between 60 and 70 staff, reaching a high of 150 during a five-story hospital project for Marian Hospital in Santa Maria in 2011. Thoma Electric encompasses divisions for Electrical Engineering, Major Electrical Construction, Small Electrical Construction, and Electrical Service. “Every project matters, no matter the scale”. Thoma Electric can manage nearly any project from inception to completion, covering design and construction. We also specialize in Data/Comm work, including copper and fiber installations, solar systems, and emergency standby power solutions. I earned my BS in Industrial Technology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1983. From 1984 to 1986, I worked at National Semiconductor as a Manufacturing Engineer, focusing on wafer fabrication. I returned to SLO in 1986 to take on the roles of Estimator and Project Manager at Thoma Electric. My responsibilities have expanded to include Company Safety Director and Manager of the Service Plus division, focusing on small to medium electrical projects. We assist with troubleshooting electrical issues and take on small time and material jobs for both homes and businesses.
