In 1986, he relocated to Napa Valley and started his contracting career at a motorsport venue for a period of seven years called Sears Point, now called Infineon. As Napa Valley's wine scene flourished, McNamara Electric expanded. The demand for electrical contractors increased as new wineries emerged. For approximately 15 years, he worked with a reputable electrical company when necessary. Currently, he focuses on on-demand service and smaller tasks.

Bill currently resides on a farm in Angwin, CA. He supports a regional Midget racer, Britton Bock.
