Since 1976, Bill McNamara has been working as a licensed electrician. He began assisting in the family business in Atascadero, CA, where his dad established a family-run electrical service. At the young age of 13, he wired his first residential project and not long after resolved he wanted to start a company of his own. In 1986, and took on contracting work at a Raceway for a period of seven years called Sears Point, now called Infineon Raceway. As the wine industry in Napa Valley expanded, McNamara Electric expanded. The demand for electrical contractors increased as wineries were constructed. For approximately 15 years, Bill subcontracted a well-respected electrical firm when necessary. Today, Bill specializes in service calls and minor projects.
He now lives on a property in Angwin, California. He sponsors a local Midget Sprint car driver, Britton Bock, a talented driver. He takes all his projects—whether in his profession or in his leisure time—with seriousness and gives it his all. He consistently has creative solutions—whether it’s about where to install a light fixture or which light bulbs to choose. People often respond with praise, exclaiming, “Wow, great idea, Bill!”.
