I was raised in a family of tradespeople. My father had an excavation firm, and I learned the ropes with a shovel. I like to say I have a PhD in digging. He encouraged me to work alongside different tradesmen every summer while I was in high school. I first worked with my Godfather, an electrician. The following summer, I teamed up with a plumber and a land surveyor. During my third summer, I was assigned a ""project house"" to renovate and sell. Although we didn’t earn much, I learned a lot about home systems. Lastly, I worked with an HVAC firm, where I installed new furnaces and air conditioning systems. These experiences laid a strong foundation for my business.
