Founded in 1983, Cost-Effective Solutions started as an IT consulting business specializing in IBM large mainframe systems. It thrived until late 2001, when the recession hit. Following 19 years of more work than I could handle, contracts became scarce. After six months of unemployment, I chose to utilize my other skills gained over 30 years as a homeowner.

I began my journey as a handyman but soon discovered my enthusiasm for electrical work, where I thrive. I delved into electrical codes, mostly through books I acquired and guidance from more experienced individuals in construction, such as my best friend, a general contractor, and a local building inspector.

I am a San Francisco native, educated in San Mateo. I studied at CSM, CCSF, and Oregon State University, focusing on Physics and Math, then relocated to South San Francisco, later to the City, Belmont in 1986, and ultimately Petaluma in 2018.

Before joining IBM in 1969, I owned a stereo component store and a small recording studio in San Francisco. During my younger days, I managed rock bands, created nightclub sound systems, and engaged in live sound engineering while also working full-time and pursuing other nighttime endeavors.

I departed from the music industry in 1985 to dedicate my efforts to Cost-Effective Solutions and IT consulting. In late 1986, I relocated my home and business to Belmont. I am happily married with three adult children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
