Clipper Creek certified charging stations are my focus.
My expertise lies in electric vehicle charging stations and related upgrades such as subpanels or main electrical panel work, but I offer full-service electrical solutions with extensive experience in troubleshooting, repairs, retrofits, remodels, and new construction.
Since June 2000, Lory Electric has been dedicated to the community.
I handle everything: owner, electrician, estimator, bookkeeper, and accountant.
Following the principle ""if you want it done right, do it yourself"" often leads to long hours, but having no team means fewer issues and lower overhead, allowing me to offer exceptional service, design, and craftsmanship at a fair price, guaranteeing it is done correctly the first time with unmatched attention to detail and a focus on what is best for my clients now and in the future.
I was on the Dean's List every quarter I could commit to college courses, but the practical experience of a 20-year-old with limited patience, poor guidance, little tolerance for debt, and a part-time job as an electrician prompted me to leave college and commit to my career full-time, earning my electrical contractor's license in June 2000 when I launched Lory Electric.

Currently, this is a solo, part-time operation. As an unlicensed electrician, I am committed to adhering to Code and ensuring quality work from the outset. Financial constraints have kept me from obtaining my license, but I collaborate effectively with local electrical inspectors. I can help you obtain any required permits.
I accept smaller jobs that larger companies often overlook. Many of these smaller tasks do not require permits. I am also equipped to handle larger projects, such as upgrading old knob-and-tube wiring to modern systems, enhancing standard service from 100 amps to 200 amps, or installing subpanels and new circuits. I have successfully rewired three homes. Feel free to get in touch to discuss your electrical concerns, as I deliver Cost-Effective Solutions.
Founded in 1983, Cost-Effective Solutions started as an IT consulting business specializing in IBM large mainframe systems. It thrived until late 2001, when the recession hit. Following 19 years of more work than I could handle, contracts became scarce. After six months of unemployment, I chose to utilize my other skills gained over 30 years as a homeowner.
I began my journey as a handyman but soon discovered my enthusiasm for electrical work, where I thrive. I delved into electrical codes, mostly through books I acquired and guidance from more experienced individuals in construction, such as my best friend, a general contractor, and a local building inspector.
Cost-Effective Solutions holds an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We recently relocated from Belmont to Petaluma. Feel free to call me.
I am a San Francisco native, educated in San Mateo. I studied at CSM, CCSF, and Oregon State University, focusing on Physics and Math, then relocated to South San Francisco, later to the City, Belmont in 1986, and ultimately Petaluma in 2018.
Before joining IBM in 1969, I owned a stereo component store and a small recording studio in San Francisco. During my younger days, I managed rock bands, created nightclub sound systems, and engaged in live sound engineering while also working full-time and pursuing other nighttime endeavors.
I departed from the music industry in 1985 to dedicate my efforts to Cost-Effective Solutions and IT consulting. In late 1986, I relocated my home and business to Belmont. I am happily married with three adult children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
