Clipper Creek certified charging stations are my focus.
I specialize in electric vehicle charging stations and associated enhancements such as subpanels or main electrical panel work, but I deliver full-service electrical solutions with extensive experience in troubleshooting, repairs, retrofits, remodels, and new construction.
Since June 2000, Lory Electric has served the community.
I oversee everything: owner, electrician, estimator, bookkeeper, and accountant.
Adhering to the principle ""if you want it done right, do it yourself"" often leads to long hours, but having no team means fewer issues and lower overhead, allowing me to provide exceptional service, design, and craftsmanship at a fair price, achieving it is done correctly the first time with extraordinary attention to detail and a focus on what is best for my clients now and in the future.
I was on the Dean's List every quarter I could dedicate myself to college courses, but the hands-on experience of a 20-year-old with little patience, poor guidance, no tolerance for debt, and a part-time job as an electrician caused me to leave college and commit to my career full-time, earning my electrical contractor's license in June 2000 when I launched Lory Electric.

Currently, this is a solo, part-time operation. Being an unlicensed electrician, I prioritize compliance with Code and delivering quality results on the first attempt. Money has been a barrier to my licensing, yet I maintain a good rapport with local electrical inspectors. I am here to guide you through the process of securing any needed permits.
I take on minor tasks that bigger firms typically won't handle. Numerous small jobs don’t even need permits. I can manage significant projects, including converting outdated knob-and-tube wiring to contemporary wiring, upgrading typical service from 100 amps to 200 amps, or adding subpanels and new circuits. I have successfully rewired three homes. Please reach out to discuss your electrical issues, as I provide Cost-Effective Solutions.
Cost-Effective Solutions began in 1983 as a consulting firm in information technology, concentrating on IBM mainframe operating systems. It was quite successful until the recession began in late 2001. Following 19 years of more work than I could handle, contracts became scarce. After six months without employment, I decided to leverage my other skills developed over 30+ years as a homeowner.
I initially worked as a handyman but soon gravitated toward electrical tasks, which I find fulfilling and am skilled at. I learned about electrical codes mainly from books I bought and insights from experienced construction professionals, including my best friend, a general contractor, and a local building inspector.
We have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau at Cost-Effective Solutions. We have just moved from Belmont to Petaluma. Don’t hesitate to reach out.
I hail from San Francisco but received my education in San Mateo. I went to CSM, CCSF, and Oregon State University, majoring in Physics and Math, then moved to South San Francisco, the City, Belmont in 1986, and finally Petaluma in 2018.
Before joining IBM in 1969, I owned a stereo component store and a small recording studio in San Francisco. During my younger days, I managed rock bands, created nightclub sound systems, and engaged in live sound engineering while also working full-time and pursuing other nighttime endeavors.
I departed from the music industry in 1985 to dedicate my efforts to Cost-Effective Solutions and IT consulting. In late 1986, I relocated my home and business to Belmont. I am happily married with three adult children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
