My journey in construction began in high school when I assisted our retired neighbors in building a house from scratch. I gained experience in Maintenance with the US Forest Service before enlisting in the Navy in '93. I underwent two years of training, earning my qualifications as a Nuclear Reactor Operator and Electronics Technician. Following my honorable discharge, I began my career at Kodak as an Industrial Electro-Mechanical Technician, later becoming a Trainer and then a Supervisor.

In '03, I made the move to Mammoth and started working in MMSA's Lift Maintenance Department. In '08, I obtained my C-10 Electrical license and established B.I.G.. By 2010, I committed to B.I.G. full-time. I was elected President of the Mammoth Lakes Contractors Association in 2012 and appointed as Commissioner of the Town's Building Advisory Committee and Construction Board of Appeals. I earned my General Contracting license in 2017, and I remain focused on my original vision for B.I.G..
