In 1949, Jackson Electric began by Tennis and Alma Jackson, and has been a reliable provider of electrical and protection services in the surrounding area for over a generation. Security offerings for homes and businesses were first introduced as part of the electrical services in the mid-20th century.

In 1972 a new partner, Chuck Turner as a co-owner of Tennis Jackson Electric Company and expanded intrusion detection design and implementation. In 1978 the separation of the firm's protection offerings from the power division, and in the following year it became JSS. In that same year, JSS purchased a local security firm in the Tuscaloosa area.

During 1988, Chuck Turner acquired both the power and security services and combined the companies. During 1992, Brad Turner was named as Vice President of Jackson Security Services, and the year 2000, Jim Essary was brought on as the VP and General Manager.

The year 2014 marked, Jackson Electric Services combined with a similar company in the local region. Currently, Jackson Security Services continues its dedication to excellence. Jim Essary continues to lead the company as General Manager and Vice President.
