Bernie came over the same day I called and fixed my electrical issue in about ten minutes! It was great, efficient service. When you call Zavalas, you know you are getting good service for the right price!

I had the electrician guy named John I think. He came over to fix my ceiling fan because it went out and I really needed to get it fixed because the central AC in my house is quite expensive. He seemed to know what he was doing and fixed it in about 20 minutes. I am glad that it is working now the only thing is that I feel that he overcharged me by a little. Turns out that he actually gave me a fair price because I called a few other companies and asked and they gave me a round the same price range. Gosh, I didn't know things like these were so expensive!

As a homeowner, I have found that with various tasks around the house, it is important to,""Have a guy."" Unfortunately, electrical was a craft that I had no contact and due to that I was reluctant to venture down that path. When we upgraded our spa, I needed to find someone. That is how I found Zavala Electric. The reviews on yelp seemed good, but I was still a bit tentative. Within minutes after Bernie arrived, I knew I could trust him. He explained the costly option, but then gave me a better route that he recommended. His work is done professionally and promptly. I was so happy with his work, that I then felt I could finally do a long awaited project of installing motorized Hunter Douglas blinds, with Bernie running electrical to all of our windows. His interaction with Greg, of the Vertical Factory, insured a clean install of the blinds. They look amazing with all electrical work neatly hidden in the walls. I would highly recommend Zavala Electric.

Bernie was great, he came out and gave me a good estimate and made some money saving suggestions. I had my out door lighting rewired and added in an additional box so the lights would be brighter, he did a good job.

I am sorry to have to do this, but our service with Mr. Zelaya was not up to par. We asked him to hang a foyer chandelier (at 17 ft. high), change out a bathroom fan and replace a shorted out switch. After charging close to $500.00, the work was not completed. He did not give me a time estimate, nor a price estimate until he was in my home, so I was stuck. The chandelier was hung crooked and he almost did not put in the light bulbs (""oh, you can do that"" - not why I hired an electrician), the drywall was not patched around the bathroom fan and the fan does not come on consistently when you flip the switch. And after 4 hours at my home (which I felt was plenty of time to do these jobs with 2 people) he left a mess on the floors that I had to clean up. To be fair, I did have to leave to pick up my kids at school, but I gave him a 25 minute ""warning"" and they quickly left the mess with 10 minutes to spare. I called him later and asked him to make the issues right and he wanted to charge me for another hour of his time at $120.00. I told him no thank you. I am seriously disappointed after reading other 5 star reviews that I can NOT recommend this electrician.

Another 5 Stars for Bernie Zavala. He came out and did a quote for a garage upgrade, scheduled me in and showed up on time... On a Saturday! I'm an electrical engineer who has worked on International Space Station so I'm a bit of a stickler for perfection. Bernie and his crew work meticulously to satisfy my requests and the final result is clean clean clean!

Zavala was perhaps the most amazing house call that I've had of any service in my history of being a home owner. I'm a handy person, usually doing my own home improvements, but a minor project turned into a huge ordeal when I errantly drilled through a power line, rendering an entire circuit unusable.

Zavala arrived when promised and worked happily and quickly to repair the problem. While present, the electricians, recognizing my enthusiasm for home projects, walked me through every step of the process, explaining what they were doing and how they would have performed my project differently to avoid the problems that I created. They talked me through some future projects, detailing every step that I should take, and even arming me with a few tools to perform the tasks. Additionally, they identified some existing problems with my wiring (which, admittedly, I should have seen!) and potentially saved me from a future disaster.

Meanwhile, not a single bad word was uttered in three hours, which as a father of three young children, I noticed and appreciated. They were great conversationalists, sharing personal stories that offered insight into their character, morality, and work ethic. I literally could not be happier with the service that Zavala rendered, and I will keep them at the very top of my call list for every electrical project going forward.

You will be well served to place your trust in Zavala!

We have an old house (1926) with the original wiring, ""creatively modified"" by the original owners. When It came time to re-wire, we were faced with re=wire plus re-modeling. We chose Bernie Zavala after getting 3 bids and are happy as can be that we did. Not only was the work done to a superior level, it was done completely, with no call-backs and a bunch of guys it was easy to have around the house for 2 weeks. We would recommend Zavala Electric to anyone in need of electirc work - you can count on it.

This was my first time to use Bernie's service and he did an excellent job!

Before I called him based on previous Yelp review, I received an estimation from an AC service company to resolve a problem for a faulty AC. The AC guy told me that I would need rewiring between outside panel and the attic to power the AC furnace due to a wire failure somewhere. This would cost me $2,500!

Bernie came in and found out, with his great knowledge and experience, that it was all caused by a faulty switch. He replaced the switch for $150 and the problem was solved!

It seems very hard to find a trustful electrician these days and luckily I have found one!

Let me start by saying that all the other 5 star reviews here really hit the nail on the head! I called Zavala electric and spoke to Bernie (the owner) for a few minutes. I told him I wanted to replace some ceiling fans in two small bathrooms we had as they were old and noisy and one broke. He told me he could actually make it out later in the day and that within 30 seconds would let me know exactly what the job would entail and what the cost would be. I immediately had a great feeling about Zavala Electric because some of the other electricians I had called actually wanted to charge an hour of labor to take out a few screws and look at the wiring, but Bernie clearly wasn't playing those games and was going to give a free estimate regardless of whether I decided to go forward with the job. Fast forward to later in the day Bernie arrived with his team exactly as he said he would and wasted no time checking the existing wiring in the bathrooms. After doing some testing and seeing what the job entailed Bernie explained in great detail what needed to be done to get the new fans (which I already purchased) in place. We are on a very tight budget and the truth of the matter is this isn't something we ""had"" to have done anytime soon or at all for that matter so I was really prepared to not do anything but when Bernie quoted the price it was not far off what we could spend so we went ahead with the job. Bernie and his team quickly went to work to install the fans which required 2x4 for framing, a lot of drywall, cutting...etc.

Everything went really smoothly and after about an hour into the job Bernie realized that some of the existing wire that was there actually could NOT be used and NEW wire needed to be run. After hearing this I got concerned because we were at our budget max already and it was common sense it was going to take much more time then initially planned. But before I could even say a word Bernie told me that he didn't realize a entire rewire for the bathroom switches would need to be done initially but that he stands by his initial quote and the additional hours of labor would be included! I was completely shocked (no pun intended) by this as I watched his team work much of the time and could see what was going into getting these fans connected, mounted and installed and it was quite a bit more then I expected. When it was all said and done Bernie and his team spent close to 4 additional hours getting this job done and he didn't charge me a PENNY MORE! How many people like this actually exist out there today? NOT MANY! Yes, he made a mistake, but so what...I make mistakes all the time and don't expect to get hammered for every mistake I make. I actually felt guilty because as I said I saw most of the job and the amount of work/labor that went into it and it was immense!

Last but definitely not least, during the time that Bernie's team was doing some of the drywall and framing with the 2x4's I conversed with Bernie about a variety of things and without going into too much detail and aside from electrical, I can tell you that Bernie isn't just an incredible electrician he's also an incredible person! I've met a lot of people in my life and Bernie is among the best of the best. I hope to not have ANY electrical issues in the near future but should something else arise I wouldn't even consider calling anyone else. Zavala Electric really knows their trade and absolutely knows how to treat their customers right. They are awesome!
