I'd like to thank Bernie and his incredible crew Eddie Danny and Oswaldo for having such patience and helping me with some very difficult electrical problems at the house. This is the second time I've hired them and again they're so amazing. The price is very affordable and much cheaper than other companies. These guys are very honest and very artistic in their approach to fixing any electrical problem. I really appreciate that and I highly recommend them and I'll call them again.

Our first encounter was when I moved into our home over 2 years ago. According to the inspector we needed several upgrades and there was a question regarding whether our electrical system was properly grounded. After reading Yelp reviews I had Zavala Electric come over and help us. I basically gave him carte blanche to do whatever was needed. He discovered our system was properly grounded. He and his assistant replaced numerous outlets with GFCI devices. In addition he replaced 6 light fixtures with new ones we provided. The garage had an incorrect mounting plate and outlet which was replaced. It was a lot of work on a very hot day.

The total price was rather high I assumed, approximately $1020.00. However I later hired another electrician to replace our smoke detectors and he charged about the same and did about half the work. Thus Zavala's bill was actually very reasonable.

Two years later one of our outlets ceased to function. Bernie sent someone over to fix such without charge. He indicated all outlets he installed had a lifetime warranty.

On March 2021 I received a letter from my HOA indicating my electrical panel needed repair. I examined such and it looked like the exterior panel was rusty. I emailed B. Zavala via Yelp on a Saturday and he immediately responded. He came over 2 hours later and examined the panel. He indicated it was functioning normal and he took it upon himself to contact the HOA for an explanation. Next Monday he called and to my relief he stated the HOA only wanted the lid to the box painted. Of course I painted it myself. I want to thank Bernie for taking the time to remedy my situation and going out of his way to do so.

I definitely recommend Zavala Electric.

I had ZAVALA ELECTRIC do a job for me last about 4 years ago. I was so happy with the thoroughness of the estimate, the quality of work performed and just as much, the kindness of Bernie and his crew. I was so impressed I took the time to write a positive YELP review. As a result of my previous positive experience, Bernie was on my 'short' list (electrical humor intentional!) for a brand new much more involved project at my home, now, about 4 years later. Bernie again proved himself and his company to be TOP NOTCH. The estimate is one of the most thorough I've EVER received from a contractor, very detailed so I knew EXACTLY what was to be done. The several questions I had were answered thoroughly and completely. Bernie took on my project (part of a full backyard redesign) and endured early morning hours, extremely cold temperatures and slogging it out in a 'bunch' of mud from extensive trenching. He installed new breakers in the existing box then did the prettiest install of conduit that had to go around the yard where it couldn't go below the ground and then dipping through a network of trenches. He installed GFI boxes for outdoor use, checked and supplanted the amperage required for an outdoor water feature and on and on. Again, I am so very impressed and completely recommend ZAVALA ELECTRIC whole heartedly!
I saw a (recent) negative review that oddly has occurred right at the time of my work (my job was on12/2/2019). Unless there is some Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde activity at play, that review is completely the inverse of my positive experience all within the same time frame!! The reviewer even commenting how he liked ZAVALA Electric so much in the past he used them several times before! Seems there is a disconnect here (more electrical humor!). I can only guess that perhaps the reviewer in question didn't get to rule the roost regarding Bernie's time? Oh well, I guess you can't please everyone! ZAVALA is top notch and professional and after 4 years of time's passage, I got the same professional work and same great work ethic that I got before!! Reasonable rates too!

Beware. Have used several times and am finally done with him. He's manipulative and outrageously expensive. Always ask for estimate ahead of time. He's reluctant to give one so you need to force it. Once had him do some lighting in the backyard of house and asked for an estimate multiple times but was told not to worry bc it won't be that much. He then hit me with a $4K bill!!

He's always hours late. Always.

Final straw for me was when he recently fixed some lights that were out only to have them go out again two days later but tried to blame it on plumbing work that was done 10 months earlier!! He still insisted on charging me. To top it off he sent a completely unprofessional email to my wife.

Good riddance.
