Charles and his team were amazing. He finished the entire remodel within 10 days. I concur with the other reviews regarding Charles communication during the entire process. There were no unexpected charges during the entire process. Charles's pricing was transparent, reasonable, and fair.

Like most remodeling, minor issues popped up after the remodel was finished. Charles and his team fixed the issues immediately even though it was the day after Thanksgiving!

I don't normally write a review but Charles and his crew deserves an honest and good recognition for their outstanding job and work ethics in transforming our old school kitchen into a more efficient and modern looking one. I was actually shopping around for a good contractor for whom I can work with and trust so I called and spoke with several contractors that I thought I can work with comfortably and also to get an idea of our project's price range considering our budget in mind, but somehow none of them pass our criteria. Fast forward, I gave it another try and called Z Design (with 5 star rating on Yelp) and spoke with Charles to arrange a home estimate. So, I laid out my propose project to him while sharing his ideas and suggestions during our conversation. The following day he sent me the quote and after reviewing it with my wife, we decided to give him the green light to schedule the job base on his price estimate which is reasonable compared to other contractors. Also, I felt that he is honest, professional and someone that I can work with comfortably and it proves that I was right. Me and my wife were so glad that we hired him to do the job.
During the actual re-modelling of our kitchen, Charles and Bing (his foreman) always makes sure that it will be at least a less stressful process for us. He is always available thru phone calls, e-mails and text or even after working hours if you want him to assess the progress of the project or if you want to talk to him for some additional side projects. He is always prompt in updating his customers of the work that needs to be done the following day and communicate what fixtures and materials necessary during that day. All of his crew from the electrician, carpenter, plumber, stone cutter and installer works fast and efficient and always consults their customer if they are not sure of something.
There was one instance where in there was a part of the mosaic back splash that wasn't installed properly, so I took a picture of it texted it to Charles and the following day his crew fixed the issue. Also, with regards to buying the materials like counter top stone/quartz and some fixtures that were needed, Crystal from the Z design showroom is knowledgeable and she is very helpful to us. We are so Happy with the outcome of our Kitchen remodeling project and I would definitely recommend Charles and his Team for any home improvement project. I will definitely consider of hiring him again for any future projects.

In order to sell our house in San Jose, we needed to remodel our outdated kitchen. Our realtor referred us to Charles with Z Design Construction. Charles came out and did a bid and was able to start the remodel the next week. Charles and Bing, the construction foreman, was always in communication with us with every step. They came out to finish the job on a Sunday. We were constantly calling Charles and Bing with questions and every time they would get back to us and/or come to our home. The Kitchen remodel was a big plus in selling our home in 3 weeks! Very happy and satisfied with Charles, Bing and their Crew. Thanks so much!

We had our kitchen cabinets and house flooring remodeled lately. Kitchen hexagon floor tiles were done perfectly by Mr. Hu, and electrician Mr. Chen was exceptionally detail-oriented. Mr. Chao is the most experienced carpenter I've ever worked with. His custom made bar countertop is such a masterpiece.

Charles and his team did a PHENOMENAL job on my little studio. The job entailed putting in new engineered hardwood floor on top of the existing epoxy one and repainting the walls. The transformation was day and night. Charles communicated very clearly and finished the job before schedule. I was extremely happy with the result. I will certainly refer him to my friends and family and do business with him again in the future.

I recently bought a house and needed to do some repairs and remodeling before we moved in. We got a recommendation to use Charles' team and I am so glad that we made the right decision. I had the pleasure of working with Charles and his crew on adding an additional bathroom to our home. I interviewed six contractors for the job and, for me, Charles exhibited a level of trust, flexibility and friendliness I was looking for.
During the process Charles always answered my questions and he really helped with plans to submit to the city for review. He was there every step of the way.
When we received the okay from the city his team was on-time and ready to work. I did have to remind his team barricade the area of work off from the rest of the house but that is just a technicality. The workmanship of his crew was tremendous. There was extensive tiling involved and it looks absolutely wonderful.
Charles and I worked together very well and we played suggestions off each other through the entire process. He is very reasonable with pricing and I could not be any happier!

Working with Charles was really easy as he provided great ideas to modernize our kitchen but were cost effective. All recommendations were priced on an itemized invoice which allowed us to choose what we wanted to improve on. He is easy to get ahold of and more importantly communicated and met the deadline we agreed upon.
