Having graduated in Electrical Engineering in 1978, Steve Wong saw an opportunity. At just 22, he recognized the chance to obtain his contractor's license and launch his own electrical firm. “The timing was perfect,” Wong reflects. “I had built a customer base through my family's friends, who were expanding their businesses and required electrical work, just as I had done for my family's farm. My family connections fostered trust, and my ability to speak Chinese facilitated communication. With the growth in Santa Clara Valley during the 1980s, Wong shifted his office to Palo Alto and today leads a team of more than 70. Steve Wong has gained recognition throughout the contracting sector in the valley, catering to a diverse clientele from Fortune 500 firms to smaller developers.
