Company Overview
We choose materials as if they were for our own household. More than 10,000 customers have relied on us. You’ll find our response time is quicker than that of our rivals. Geoff was featured by NBC as a leading authority on electrical panels. Geoff expressed, “We contribute a share of our profits to animal charities because I care for them greatly!” We are ranked among the top three electricians in the Bay Area. With over 250 positive reviews across various platforms. I began my career in 1967. “He is dependable, timely, and invaluable.” “I outline everything clearly, in simple terms, so you know what to expect. I explain the entire process: consultation, bid preparation, obtaining signatures, scheduling, purchasing materials, and securing permits. Typically, jobs are finished in just a few days. I am the one on-site, not subcontracting to others like some of my competitors. We can conduct a video call, and I can often estimate costs from that, which saves you time. Video calls, WhatsApp, Zoom, panel upgrades, EV Level 2 charger installations, generator setups. We handle panel repairs and replacements, 100 to 200 amp upgrades, PG&E Federal Pacific, Sylvania Zinsco, fuse panel changes, and more. We also handle automotive EV charging stations, electric vehicle circuits, Tesla circuits, sub-panel modifications, knob and tube work, three-phase systems, new circuits, LED lighting, recessed lighting, and commercial electrical tasks. Since 1967, we have served over 10,000 clients. In 1967, I completed my first job, a knob and tube repair with my father. I take great pride in Williams Electric. Geoff Williams has been installing full-time since 1976, holding an Associate of Science degree in electricity earned in 1981, with 60,000 hours of hands-on experience. One error can lead to significant issues for a client. I’ve successfully completed 3,000 knob and tube jobs without a fire, overload, or any callbacks for bad work.
I have cleared 3,000 inspections. With countless connections and more than 10,000 clients, my work is reliable long after I leave the site. I have completed 200 kitchen remodels, 110 bathroom renovations, and 35 new home constructions, along with many businesses that launched with new electrical lines and lighting. My experience with people from various backgrounds has revealed the diversity of our world. I thank all who have trusted me and aided my journey. I aim to do good, safeguarding homes, lives, pets, and children from danger.
We embrace diversity, employing all ethnicities, serving LGBTQ clients, and hiring those with disabilities and immigrants. I am recognized as the electrician to the stars, having served many leading real estate experts and celebrities, including realtors, home inspectors, city and building inspectors, athletes, writers, and artists. I take pride in Williams Electric. In 1981, I received my Associate of Science degree in electrical work. I have executed 2,000 PG&E main panel changes, 3,000 Federal Pacific Stab-Lok panel replacements, and Sylvania Zinsco panel modifications. We welcome small projects. Lauren L.Geoff is just a good dude. We had a fried circuit out of nowhere and I called for an emergency appointment. Geoff wasn't available to come out so instead he did a FaceTime appointment with us to tell us what was needed for the job. Ronda helped coordinate the whole thing with multiple calls back and forth. I couldn't believe how helpful they both were when they honestly didn't need to be because they couldn't come out. They have my business for future jobs forever.
I haven't used Williams Electric; Geoff happened to be working on my next-door neighbor's house soon after another electrician replaced my main electrical panel (which the city hasn't signed off on, for reasons unrelated to the work itself). Geoff pointed out various problems with the work, for example certain kinds of connectors that aren't allowed, and--most alarming--that aluminum wire had been used in one place--technically allowed if it's done correctly, but why skimp on something like that, when copper is demonstrably safer and I would have been happy to pay whatever extra it might have cost?? I really appreciated the time Geoff took to take a look and explain what he was seeing, since I know zero about what a main panel should look like. Unfortunately I'm stuck with the electrician who started the work since we're in mid-permit, but next time I have electrical work to do, I'll be calling Geoff with confidence that he won't cut corners.
George R.I'm a total slap dick when it comes to even basic home maintenance, so I quickly panicked when it appeared I'd blown the outlets in my kitchen through careless use.
Rather than charge me for a diagnostic visit, Rhonda set up a free FaceTime session with Geoff (on a Saturday no less), who spent half an hour guiding me through various potential fixes until we found one that got everything back online. Was it rocket science? No. But most places would have set up a $100+ appointment to come out and take a look. Instead, Rhonda and Geoff took time to help me solve the issue before making a costly visit. - and didn't even charge me for the time.
I'm grateful that Williams were willing to help out a rube, where others might have taken advantage. They earned my trust and I'll definitely go to them first when I need more serious electric work done. Highly recommend!
I know it's been 5 years since my initial review, but this actually pissed me off enough for me to patiently wait to make sure any information he gathered was null and void.
Upon leaving a negative review, he THREATENED ME with blackmail if I did not remove it. Our roommates at the time happened to leave their bong out, and he threatened to contact my husband's work to report supposed drug use?? He doesn't even smoke. Geoff went as far as to find my Facebook profile to obtain pictures as further blackmail. He put more effort into this than he did into providing an actual estimate.
But guess what I saved? That email, which I now can share with the rest of you so you can see what kind of person you're allowing into your home.
F**k you, Geoff.
Tyler C.Geoff responded immediately and came over and was able to solve our problem quickly at a fair price. He and the woman I spoke to on the phone were both friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you Geoff
Mike F.Geoff did a great job of handling our core issues and investigating others that surfaced during our appointments. We are first-time homebuyers of a 1962 house, so it was nice to have someone thoughtful enough to give us strong recommendations on what to do for modernization.
Geoff is a huge dog fan, and the feeling was reciprocated by my main man Koda pictured below.
I called about an outlet that was out in our garage despite trying to reset the circuit breaker. All the other electricians I called were a minimum $325 to come out. Williams Electric called me and went through a step by step of easy things to do to fix it prior to coming out (for free) and one of those things did the trick. I called back up to offer to pay something and she turned it down. I'll certainly be using Williams Electric for anything that may come up in the future!
Jazmine L.While I am not a client of Williams Electric (details below), I am impressed with Geoff's willingness to communicate and reach a resolution.
Our brief interaction resulted in a miscommunication that stirred up all kinds of chaos. I actually posted a very negative review and Geoff reached out to me personally to explain. Long story short: my home is complicated and would require a host of folks, not just an electrician, to complete the work I want done. It was built around 1910 and is spilling over with original details and character. But with that comes challenges like plaster and knob & tube wiring. As a first time home buyer, I greatly appreciate detailed explanations, especially if my bill is going to be high.
Geoff's communication is clear and he demonstrates a deep care for his team. If you want a straight forward answer to your electrical needs, I'd give Williams Electric a call.
Donald C.Mr. Williams came by on the SAME day that I called for service. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem and fix it. As a result, I no longer am without heat, refrigeration, and many plugs. Also offered safety advice that should be followed regarding space heaters. His entire operation was well staffed, friendly and efficient. I would definitely use again, and do not hesitate to recommend Williams Electric to you!
Faraz S.Geoff is honest and trustworthy. I had a problem with one circuit and couldn't figure out what was wrong. He did a FaceTime to do the preliminary troubleshooting steps. Then was kind and generous to guide me through my DYI project.
He saved me $200+ dollars and tried to set me up for success!
