Chris showed up promptly as scheduled. He was respectful of our place and removed his shoes before starting job. We had 2 projects for him and he was able to analyze the situation and complete both task in about 2 hours. Chris took time to make sure our kitchen island hanging light were matching lengths, as they were on adjustable cords and showed us how to make minor adjustments if needed in the future. He was professional and skilled with his craft. We would definitely hire him again.

We used VP Electric a few years ago to install LED and do an inventory of our electrical outlets. The technician was very professional, did a good job and the price was very reasonable. Today we had half the garage out of power and the technician came out and showed where the GFI reset was for no charge. John from VP Electric was very pleasant and helpful. I will definitely use VP Electric for future upgrades and electrical work. I highly recommend them to anyone.

I'm very happy with the professional work done by VP. It was a big job including trenching, piping between two houses, and coordinating with HELCO. On time and they pushed the job knowing we had some time limitations. Co-owner John was particularly responsive, answering his cell on a first ring. If you've got a bigger contracting job, call these guys.

Highly recommended. We had some ceiling fans to change out on 20 food vaulted ceilings. From beginning to end, great communication, punctual, friendly and professional. Dealt with Chad, Darrin over phone and email and AJ and Hayden came out to get the job done. Ran into some issues with new fan but they went the extra mile and got the job done. Mahalo again.

It was a little difficult getting our appointment scheduled. However, when Allen and the other electrician showed up they did a fantastic job. They were able to use prior wiring which saved us some money. I would use VP again. Just don't expect to have the job done right away.

VP Electric responded promptly to our request for some general electrical work at our home. The company does solid work compared to many of the contractors on Big Island, however, make certain that you get a written quote for the work to be done from them. In our case, the price of the final bill was almost double of what was verbally quoted over the phone after the technician had initially scoped out the job. A customer deserves to know when an oversight on VP's estimate is going to cost them more and be part of the decision process moving forward. Sticking your customers with a larger than expected bill is not how you encourage a customer to pick up the phone for the next job. If you need a competent electrician, give them a call, but buyer beware of unsound quoting and billing practices.

These guys were fantastic. Bad communication at first (probably my fault however). However, they followed up and said they would come tomorrow at 7am. At 7:00 on the nose, they were there and ready to work. He replaced some old water heater timers, replaced a few bad GFIs and tracked down a short that no one else could find. Super nice guy named James who was polite, well spoken, neat and professional. He was missing one part (outside outlet cover) but came back that afternoon to finish even when we were away (gave him permission of course). They are not cheap but fair. I have had bad luck with guys who are cheap but you wind up paying to fix what they didn't do properly. These guys did it right the first time. And, as the saying goes, ""the cheapest wind up paying the most."" VP did a super job and come highly recommend. They have a new customer. 5-stars!

We were very pleased with the excellent responsiveness and service delivered by Chad of VP Electric. He patiently answered all our questions and then came on short notice during the holidays to install the electrical junction box and wiring for our new Stiebel Eltron Tempra 24 whole house on demand hot water heater. The work was professionally done, looks nice, and we now have hot water. We will certainly call VP Electric again should another need arise.

GREAT QUICK service! I had smoke detectors go off in the middle of the night, and wouldn't stop, blaring non-stop in a condo complex no less. Did everything we could ourselves - but needed to replace the units, which of course we couldn't reach. First thing at 8:00am I called Chad in the service department and I had James at my door within a couple of hours! Everything replaced. Everything fixed. Friendly, fast, fair service.
