Here is my HECO review and review for True Power.

Here's the main breaker for our unit that only HECO has access to. For a week we had little to no power at times. Lights flickering, lights dimming, no stove, no hot water, had to spend money for the laundromat.

Hired an electrician, Josh, who said we needed HECO to come out because they have seen this before and it's usually the main breaker. But since HECO has tags on the panels, they cannot access it without permission.

We called Hawaiian Electric multiple times explaining the issues at hand. We told them what our electrician said. But every time we were met with: your voltage looks fine on our end, it's likely something in your unit, your panel probably needs to be replaced and never, yes we should come out and look. We trusted their opinion.

But enough was enough; the keiki couldn't take showers and we couldn't cook meals. We asked maintenance/HOA to call HECO and get them out to meet our electrician, which they did.

And here is the result. A melted breaker. This is exactly what our electrician warned about.

Lucky our electrician from True Power advocated for us to get HECO out. This easily could have caused a big ass fire for our unit or the complex.

Why do we pay so much for electricity and are met with complacency?

We are highly unsatisfied with HECO's service.

Electricity is something we never want to mess with or Google....We are really grateful for Peter Gomez who came out and showed us some things about our electrical panel that we were unaware of. He also replaced all of our hard wire smoke detectors. They were original to the house and all decided to blare non stop at 2 am!!
Pricing was exactly what I would expect it to be for the expertise.

I was looking for a reputable certified electrician. So i turned to Yelp for some help. Read several reviews from 4 different companies. 1 stood out from the rest, True Power. So i asked for a quote for the work that i had and pics of the work area. Peter got back to me and said his company could help me. So we set up date and time that would accommodate me and my busy schedule. He told me Josh would be doing the work and would let me know when hes on his way.
The install day came and Josh called to let me know he was 20mins away. He arrived and showed him what i needed done and said he could do it today. He explained what he was gonna do and finished the job in record time. Nice clean job. He was very professional and courteous. If i ever need a electrician i will definitely call Peter at True Power. Good job fellas.

Mahalo to Peter and Josh!

During the busy holiday season and with Christmas lights hanging around the house, you do not want the outlets around the house to quit working.
Searched on YELP for an electrician. Peter Gomez reached out via phone. He was professional and answered my questions. Arranged for Josh to come out the next morning to take a look at the outlets. Arrived in a timely manner and called me of his arrival. After inspecting the areas, he knew what the issue was and completed it within time provided. He also walked around checking on other possible not working outlets and found it all working properly. Josh is a local boy, very young and very knowledgeable.
