Company Overview

First, it's important to note the key contrasts between our electric cooperative and investor-owned utilities. You may not realize that our members enjoy an authentic Bill of Rights which encompasses the right to obtain trustworthy, budget-friendly, and safe electrical service as well as the right to unite to create and manage a not-for-profit electric service. In our cooperative structure, each customer are afforded fair and equal consideration. This equitable treatment is made possible through the efforts of our management and team, but also through a Board of Trustees elected by the members. This represents consumer security at its best. Moreover, cooperatives are guided by seven foundational principles that ensure members receive fair attention from the utility they support. These principles include fairness, open access, member control, independence, education, training, and information, including mutual support among cooperatives that facilitates the strength of combined initiatives to work towards the advantage of the cooperatives. The last of these principles emphasizes community support. Though cooperatives always put members' interests first, they consistently work in bettering the neighborhoods they serve.
