You might not know that our members are granted an authentic Bill of Rights that includes the right to access reliable, cost-effective, and secure electricity along with the right to unite to form and operate a community-focused electric utility. Within a cooperative framework, every member receive just and equal treatment. This fairness is achieved not just by management and staff, but also through a Board of Trustees elected by the members. This exemplifies consumer security at its best. Moreover, cooperatives are guided by seven principles that ensure members receive fair attention from the utility they own. The principles encompass equity, accessibility, member oversight, self-sufficiency, learning, training, and information sharing, including cooperation between cooperatives that enables the strength of combined initiatives to be utilized for the benefit of the cooperatives.
