Company Overview

I want to emphasize the numerous distinctions that exist between our cooperative and investor-owned utilities. You might not know that our members are granted a true Bill of Rights that includes the right to receive reliable, cost-effective, and secure electricity and the right to come together to form and operate a not-for-profit electric service. In a cooperative model, all consumers are treated fairly and equitably. This is accomplished by our dedicated management and employees, but also by a Board of Trustees selected by our members. This exemplifies the pinnacle of consumer security. Additionally, cooperatives operate under seven foundational principles that provide members receive fair attention from the utility they support. These guiding principles consist of fairness, open access, member control, independence, education, training, and information, as well as cooperation between cooperatives that enables the benefits of united actions to work towards the advantage of the cooperative community. The final principle focuses on community well-being. Although cooperatives place members first, they are also actively engaged in bettering the neighborhoods they serve.
