I was getting desperate and discouraged trying to find an electrician to fix my outlets to my stove and refrigerator. I must have called about ten different companies and even referrals given to me by others. Finally, I contacted T.E.C and spoke with Jeremy. He told me he would come to assess the situation . He arrived on time with his assistant Ryan. they diagnosed the problem, fixed it and cleaned up everything afterwards.
My refrigerator is humming happily and I can cook again on my stove !in a word awesome!!! I would highly recommend this company as there are many touting promises but can not deliver. thanks you T.E.C electrical!!! Eloise Van Sandt

Tom came and diagnosed an electrical issue with our oven that had stopped working, gave us a reasonable price estimate, and then called their colleague Jason to get needed supplies and come complete the job-he was there within the hour with all materials! Jason & Sal were professional, thorough, and speedy! So happy to have our oven back and can't wait to get back to home cooked meals.

We bought our house in Alameda in October and my realtor referred me to TEC. I called them right after close because the house had some knob and tube and other safety electrical issues. The previous owner decided to only fix a 1/3 of what was needed in the 100 year old house to make it safe and meet codes.

Tom is the man! He got back to me right away and him and his Dad came over within a week to do a walkthrough with me and listen to my concerns. Not only did he listen to what I was looking for he gave me great advice about other items and what the city requirements are. Cool part is his crews did some previous work 3 years ago in the second floor and he recognized the house right away. We went through the entire electrical system in about 30 mins. I got a reasonable quote for the work within a week. After another phone call with some questions we got the work scheduled. At first it was going to be a few weeks out due to the other jobs he had and the size of my job but he called me and said there was a delay on a different project and wanted to bump my job up. Awesome! So all said and done work started within 2 weeks of his consultation visit. For alameda and how busy every contractor is that was gravy!

Tom showed up with the entire crew the first day of work and walked them through the job with me. They brought up good questions about my future plans and where I wanted everything to avoid conflicts down the road. Eric the lead electrician was nothing but great to work with. Communicated with me every day, asked before doing, and had a great sense of humor and was a pleasure to be around. He also works his butt off. His crew was great too. But very impressed with how Eric ran the show got everything organized and had a super efficient team. They replaced my entire first floor, attic and basement while also coordinating with my mechanical contractor AT Weber who was installing a second floor HVAC and AC condessor unit. Tom was the one who actually hooked me up with Todd at AT Weber and they coordinated all the work.

When it came down to the city inspection and close out it went smoothly. Tom guided me through the lighting codes and recommended Berkeley lighting for my new first floor fixtures so they met code and could use the JA8 bulbs. BTW those bulbs are hard to find and good news is the inspector wanted to check them so we were good to go. Inspection passed in 20 mins!

Bottom line is if you are doing any significant electric work in alameda call Tom. He is straight up and honest. His quote is what it cost in the end. I added a few things and his price was very reasonable. As a home owner do your homework, listen to what he tells you, and research if you want. I don't see how TEC would get a bad review unless the home owner was the issue. Overall Tom and his crew was one of best experiences a new home owner in alameda could get. So stoked my realtor recommended him. So if you are reading this stop here and just call his number to get an appointment scheduled!

I was very impressed with Tom and his team at TEC Electrical. I needed to replace some kitchen lights, fix a few outlets and a few other minor things. His staff were polite, professional, fast, communicated very well and arrived at my home exactly when they said they would. I would highly recommend TEC, especially if you live in Alameda.

We have always have a good experience working with owner Tom and his electricians. Straightforward, honest, fair prices. Tom hires good employees. Our most recent job with Eric went off very well. We were going away for the weekend so I asked if he could make some time on a Friday before we left town. It was a circuit with a floodlight and exterior outlet that had shorted out. Eric arrived on time, talked through the issue with me, made it all understandable, and told me what he recommended would fix. After I agreed, he got right to work and was finished in a couple hours.

TEC has also replaced our main service panel, run power out to our garage rebuild, and a few other odd jobs. For bigger jobs, Tom comes out and quotes it himself. An Alameda original. We trust them with our home's electrical work.

Great experience with T.E.C. Electric. I've had them out twice over the past couple of months working on a project to convert an attic room. They added electric outlets and overhead lighting. They did a great job at a very reasonable price. They showed up on time when they said they would and returned all calls promptly.

I will definitely use them again.
