Raymond Starr established Starr Electric Company, Inc. in 1928, beginning as a one-man business in a small office on North Green Street in Greensboro, NC. The company persevered and expanded through the challenges of the Depression Era. By 1942, Starr Electric welcomed Raymond Starr's brothers, J.W. and Roy, to the team.
