When I lost power in my kitchen today, (on a Sunday) while preparing dinner for my family, I looked up an electrician on yelp and found Sid. I call the number provided but no one picked up at first. In minutes, got a call back and as I was explaining my issue, he was providing instructions on what to do. It turned out that it wasn't a simple fix (like a simple breaker box reset) that could be done over the phone. Within 10 minutes of providing my home address, he was here and ready to problem solve. He seemed super nice, pleasant, and very knowledgeable, and explained everything well. Within 30 minutes, he diagnosed the problem and fixed it. We felt so relieved. While he was here, we actually learned quite a bit about our electrical, which is very valuable. He is also very reasonable with his cost of service. My family now has an electrician whom we can call upon for future. After this review, I'm saving his number in my contacts! Look no further, Sid's your man for your electrical needs. Again, thank you Sid! If we can give you 6 stars, we would.

Wonderful service starting with John who was on time and did a great job bringing down my large light fixture from my 16ft. Ceiling ! It needed to be repaired and when the repair was completed, John and Sid did a great job rehanging it perfectly!
I would highly recommend their wonderful service!

Sid was awesome!! I called him to help me troubleshoot an issue with installing a flood light on my front porch. I initially installed it myself, but it didn't have enough power to operate. I wasn't sure what to do. I was getting about 35V when I measured it, and I needed 110V. Why would I not have enough power?? As soon as Sid looked at the light fixture, he knew these was a transformer that was lowering the voltage for the previous recessed light I took out. Sid was able to remove the recessed can, and he found the transformer/junction box he promised would be there hiding behind the recessed can. He took out the transformer lowering my voltage, wired it back up, and installed my flood light. I tried all week installing this, and he spent 50 minutes.

Sid was a great guy, fun to talk to, and definitely knew what he was doing. Very, very satisfied. I think I found my go-to electrician.

P.S. Sid came to my home at 5pm; he worked around my schedule. A+

SJN Electric did a great job restoring power to our garage. With the recent wind and rain, our power line to the garage came down. Sid's team took care of the problem quick. They were very professional and pleasant. We couldn't find the key to the lock on our electric panel, no problem, they managed to get the lock off for us. Our garage door had a problem opening after they left, no problem, Sid came by and had it fixed in no time. It is reassuring to know there are companies like SJN Electric that we can count on. Thank you again to the whole team at SJN Electric.

I mean I have to update my review of this guy!!!! They dont make people like this anymore. So one of my GFCI outlets wasn't working and I wanted to get it fixed right away because it was in the kitchen (a area of high activity) so I tried to fix it and ran into issues. I give Sid a call to just try and have him do it (I'd given up) -- instead of letting me give up, this guy talked me through the process over the phone for half an hour. Then I screwed up the project even more by breaking the ground wire. Again Sid asked me to come over and he gave me a new wire with instructions on how to get the darn thing working again. I mean WHO DOES THAT nowadays? Free of charge! Like I was just so impressed and humbled by how helpful this guy is -- I hope he always stays in business while we are living in San Leandro, he's a true local treasure.

Sid is a lifesaver!! To summarize, he's a rare combination of expertise, honesty and reliability.... combined with genuine caring. To fully appreciate how amazing he is, I've summarized my experience herein:
Based upon his great Yelp reviews, we called him when our power was out...after we accidentally cut the underground power cable leading to the duplex apartment in the rear. PG&E said it was not their cable, but was privately owned (aka ours), so up to us to repair. Now for how wonderful Sid is: a) He genuinely cared. Since our situation was an emergency, he made room to same day come, even though it meant moving around his other appointments that had some flexibility. b) Other electricians we talked with over the phone (Fyi, based upon their good Yelp reviews), said they'd need to trench the whole cable and replace it (not even suggesting the possibility of repair). Fortunately Sid's expertise gave him cautious optimization to suggest ideally he could fix the cable cut area, without trenching the whole cable. c) He came the same day, inspected and gave me the good news. He was able to repair it!! d). Then another complication arose, our power flow was erratic. Rather than revert to trenching the whole cable (time consuming & added cost), as I suspect other electricians would (aka already had over the phone), Sid ran further diagnostics, and expertly determined our main circuit breaker was old, and not working properly. So, he literally fixed it. And, the rest is history. All is working beautifully. And, our Tenants are happy. e) All of the above, and right on his estimated cost. Which definitely shows honesty and integrity.
In summary, if you are looking for an Electrician, rest comfortably...just call Sid:)

Sid is as good as it gets. Truly an amazing, friendly guy who helped super quickly and did exactly what I needed. MORE than fair and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

What can I say about Sid , he's the man . Melinda from
Next door recommended Sid . I didn't hesitate since electrical issue is not something I'd want to procrastinate . I called Sid at 6:40 pm ( way over the business hours for most electricians in alameda ) I did called 5-6 electricians and none replied . Sid asked where I was and I didn't think he would come at this time . I was very impressed when he showed up 20 mins later ready to diagnose the problem . He found the issue within 5 mins and called alameda municipal power and let them know the issue is at their end . I couldn't thank Sid enough , you are the man I owe you big time . I wouldn't be able to sleep if he didn't come to rescue us because this was a serious problem , as one of my electric power strip exploded and caused a fire .

If no one was home , my house would have been gone due to fire . I sincerely thank you , my whole family thank you . definitely call Sid if you have electrical problem
