Here's my fair and honest review of SJN Electric from service done earlier today: Sid and his assistant are simply amazing! I called two other electricians before calling Sid, and the other two were nice and tried to troubleshoot the problem through the phone since they couldn't come out because they were too busy. Their troubleshooting didn't work, so I called Sid after finding him on Yelp and hoped he was able to come out. He said he was also busy, but he could send out his assistant right away and join him a little later since he was headed to a house near where I lived. His assistant, John, came out and started doing some research around my garage since my lights blew out there as well as the hallway and guest bathroom. However, once Sid arrived and announced right away to me that it was going to be an easy fix, I knew I was in great hands since he was so confident and experienced. Lo and behold, he found the problem quickly (burnt hallway outlet - scary!) and fixed it just as quickly (about 30 minutes). Great customer service, more than reasonable price, and super responsive!

Sid is fantastic. Very responsive. Many electricians, that are good, will help you out once or twice, but after awhile they get ""too busy."" I've heard Sid say many times how busy he is, but he always seems to find time, even for small item. He is my go to electrician.

I highly recommend Sid. His rates were very reasonable, and the quality of work exceptional and thorough. His business ethic is of the highest standard. I was putting in a electric gate and needed some wiring in the house to prepare. Sid knew exactly what I needed, rattled off the specs of what was required,and told me where to go to get the permit as this was all new for me. He was extremely helpful. When the time came for wiring, he came by the house, we had a good conversation and he suggested he come back when the gate people were on the site to make sure I got exactly what was needed. I was so impressed! He wanted the job done correctly. Others would've just done the install w/o regard to the entire project. He saved me time, headache and money. I will be a loyal customer forever! I had a contractor install two LED bathroom lights and light switches in May and a few weeks later a PG&E transformer blew out in front of my home. Around that time, the lights didn't turn on consistently when I hit the light switch - in both bathrooms! My contractor said it was a PG&E issue and that the lights as well as the switches would need to be replaced which was going to be costly. A PG&E service man came out and said there was nothing wrong with my electrical systems. I wanted to get another estimate in hopes of finding a less expensive solution for something I'd already paid a lot of money for so looked up electricians on Yelp and found SJN. Called yesterday from work (Thursday) and was able to make an appointment for today. Turns out the light switches that had been installed were the wrong kind for the LED lights I purchased. Sid/SJN was able to pinpoint the problem within minutes and replaced the switches, was done in less than 30 minutes. His price was very reasonable and significantly less than what my contractor had quoted to correct the problem. Sid at SJN is honest, knowledgeable and I'll definitely call them again if (when) I need additional electrical work!

I had a problem with my backyard electrical, and made a late Saturday afternoon call to him. Left a message, he returned my call at around 6:10pm and said he had time to look at it. Sid quickly diagnosed the problem, replacing a part in a difficult location. He crawled into a small space, removed a few pipes that were in the way, and replaced the faulty part. Put everything back together.......and my problems were over. I had a bulb out in one of my light fixtures out back and he was kind enough to give me a replacement he had in his truck.

It took maybe an hour to do everything, perhaps a bit longer. Sid was professional, extremely knowledgeable, and just a really good guy. The cost was extremely reasonable.

Folks, if you have the need for an electrician, your first call should be to Sid. I told him he is now my personal electrician. He is truly outstanding and I would recommend him to anyone that needs a quality electrician. How many guys would have the courtesy of calling you back on a Saturday night, let alone come out and take care of the problem? I can think of at least one person, that would be Sid.

If you're reading this Sid, thanks a lot for coming out and taking care of my electrical issues. An absolute professional.

I wanted to say THANK YOU for coming out after hours to help turn on my electricity that was out in the back part of my house. I changed all the fuses and realized it was the breaker. It was an easy fix. Reasonably priced and honest!!

Sid is great!!! He is also a member of the Alameda Chamber of Commerce... I had a very very bad experience with Nielsen Electric in Alameda, two entirely different companies, If you like read my review about them.
But back to Sid...He came out a few minutes early :-) was very quick, knew exactly what he was doing and talking about. He did mention that some of the work would need a permit, I did appreciate him telling me that..His communication skills were an A+++ He texted me instead of calling and did as he promised a proposal the very next day sent to my email. Thank you Sid
