My wife and I were on vacation in Florida. My adult daughter was house/pet sitting for us. On Saturday night she called us to communicate that the AC had stopped working. After several calls to companies advertising 24 hour emergency service, Service City was the only company that committed to have a technician come out that night. While there was an added emergency call fee it was less that dog boarding and a hotel would have cost. Great job and truth in advertising!

3 weeks ago called Rays, and this company shows up. Knew what the issue was, and told them breaker was removed from outside disconnect for the A/C unit, asked if they needed a pic, to bring the appropriate breaker. 200$ for them to show up with no breaker - plus i had to pre pay for the item they didn't have. Its been 3 weeks i had to track them down since this isn't actually the company i had called. They confirmed that they were the provider, and they will call me back... Heard that before- about 3 weeks ago. I wont call Either company for my future needs!!

Amazing service. We called them out after hours at almost midnight. We were tired of fighting with our home warranty company and afraid the electrical issue was dangerous. E. Alexander came to the house and proceeded to replace all the burnt up wiring and stuff. He them tinkered with the AC and got it running. Because my older mother and kids were there, (I was out of town with work) he took great care to make sure the house was safe and everything was working. The next morning he returned to check in everything. He contacted me and then proceeded to contact homeshield (my warranty company) and worked with them to get me full reimbursement.
What an amazing company. From my first conversation sign Brenda to the final fixed product courtesy of E. Alexander, they made this very stressful situation a little more bearable.
I highly recommend calling them for any of your electrical or AC needs. I will be using them from now on!!!!
Thanks again
M. Casey

I called Service City to schedule an electrician to come out and install 3 pendant lights and 1 chandelier in a brand new house. I had all the required materials and explained that to the lady over the phone. She said she would not give me a price but wanted to charge me $69 to send a ""certified electrician"" to my house to give me a price for the job. I asked for a rough estimate or even a rough hourly rate just so I would not waste my time or theirs. She refused and said this is standard practice. I said no thanks and called DCP Electrical Services. They provided an estimate over the phone and were able to come out that afternoon to do the work. I would not normally write a review but this experience is something that other people should be aware of before calling Service City. Very disappointing.

We called this company because our secondary drain line was dripping, but the unit itself was cooling fine. The first tech came out and said the primary line was clogged and for us to pour bleach down it. He checked the outside unit and said the capacitor was weak and needing replacing. So we had him replace it, but he did nothing about the leaking drain line. Thirty minutes after he left the whole system quit working. He came back out and said the evaporator coil needed replacing. The next morning they showed up with the wrong size coil. They installed a new coil (finally) and coolant, but the drain was still dripping. Then we were told the primary line was clogged and we would need to get a plumber to replace the line coming out of the attic into the bathroom. Our plumber came out and said there was NO clog in the line. He even got in the attic and said the unit wasn't even attempting to drain down the primary line. Four days and several thousand dollars later the drain quit dripping. Now 1 1/2 months later the air temp in the house started climbing. We had a different company out and were told the coolant line going into our 1 1/2 month-old evaporator was leaking, and we needed more coolant. He fixed the leak, secured some loose fittings, replaced the coolant and was finished. I called Service City first, but was told I would be charged a higher rate because of the holiday and a tech would call me back. I got tired of waiting when they didn't call back and called another company. The other company I called after Service City came out, determined the problems, fixed them and was finished before Service City called back.
I will never use Service City again.

I hired Service City to install an exterior wall sconce beside my front door. I had them remove the two old sconces. The company sent Marc McCloure out along with his trusty sidekick DJ.
Both of them were very courteous, well groomed, clean cut, efficient, well spoken and prompt. Marc gave me an extra 10-15 minutes to wrap up my business before they got here. They did a great job. I office out of my home so I am here all day, but I did get a cancellation from the company the day before which really would have been a very big deal had I come home to meet them based on the 4 hour window which I know is standard. Because I was at home anyway, not a problem, and they did offer to come late. I suspect they noted I was home office. You definitely will pay for the quality, it's not an inexpensive company to work with, but it's reassuring to know you won't have someone you would much rather not have on your property doing your electric contracting. I will hire them again to install my second lamp and rework my panel.
P.S. To those Yelp reviewers fussing about trip fee? Well get over it. What fool would run a business sending employees with trucks and vans loaded with supplies only to show up and then have the homeowner decide ""nevermind"" wasting that valuable time which you can't recoup. Time and fuel is money folks!. They have some skin in the game and you'd want that too if it was your business. That being said I hope they waive my trip fee on my their next visit :)

Stephen from Service City came out to replace our old security flood light with a state of the art LED fixture. It was quick to see that Stephen is a very knowledgeable and professional technician. Stephen also gave us pointers on updating our circuit panel and kitchen lighting. I will use Service City again for our electrical issues.

Knowledgeable, thoroughly professional and cordial. Couldn't be happier and would highly recommend them. If you want it done right, they'll get it accomplished to your satisfaction.

I told them I had a single duplex electric plug that wasn't working and needed it fixed/replaced. They send out 2 technicians to do such a simple job. Found another ground fault duplex plug had tripped shutting the other one off. Recommended replacing both duplex plugs for $260. I told them I thought that was too much for such a simple job considering I had their ""Family Plan"" which gives me free trip call fee. The tech said well how much do you want to pay. I told him I wasn't dealing for a used car and that I didn't appreciate the bate and switch pricing technique. The first time I used them about 6 months ago I thought they were somewhat over priced, but the ""gave me a discount"" for signing up for the ""Family Plan"" for $125 for a year. I think they are a bunch of gypsters and would never recommend or use them again.

Casey Hargis with Service City Electric just took my 80 year old mother for 'a ride' with his service visit and up-selling, and final bill. I arrived on scene to find out a simple bathroom heater installation became a $538 monster bill (he was even drawing up plans for a complete electrical overhaul on the house that would end up costing her over $300 monthly). I can't abide having innocent elderly ladies being taken advantage of. He immediately understood I wasn't 'buying what he was up-selling' and left without providing me a look at his invoice of radical charges. He even charged $91.00 to install a simple battery powered smoke alarm! Mind you this wasn't connected to house power... a battery powered alarm from Home Depot! Shame on you Casey. Shame.
