Kevin C. and his family have been meeting the heating and air conditioning needs of Northern California homeowners since 1972.
Kevin completed his studies at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in 1994.
Upon finishing his degree, he returned to assist in his parents' heating and air conditioning business.
His parents sold the business to a $5 billion corporation in Dallas, TX, after 25 years of ownership.
He spent six years with that corporation before choosing to exit the corporate world and create a family-run, client-centered business similar to what his parents started in 1972.
Consequently, he started Service Champions in 2002.
Guided by these values, Kevin's company has grown to include more than 200 team members and has been in operation for 18 years.
Today, Service Champions caters to homeowners in the San Francisco Bay Area (East Bay), South Bay, and the Sacramento area.

When on a routine preventative maintenance service call, which cost $75, your HVAC company tells you your ""capacitor"" needs to be replaced and the price is an additional $370 you might want to do a couple of things. First, go online and look up the price of the capacitor. It will probably be in the +-$20 range (retail). Then go on YouTube and see how to replace it. You will note that it takes about 30 seconds and it's no more difficult than replacing a light bulb. You don't even get your hands dirty. When is the last time you had your car oil changed for $99 and they charged you an additional $370 to replace the $10 oil filter. Anybody know a less avarice HVAC company?

We used them to service our AC that broke down recently. We could get the unit to run by giving the fan a spin so we had an idea if could be a faulty capacitor. The diagnostic trip cost us $89. The technician replaced the bad capacitor without providing us any estimate of the work and presented us with a $600 bill after. He refused to provide us breakdown of this cost into part and labor. He told us he could take the part out if we were not happy with the bill. Very unprofessional service. I would not recommend them. However, to give credit where due I did have their service manager return my call and he is checking on this end what they can do. I will update this post depending on how things turn out.

Nam and Hung came this morning (5-26-20) and were right on time. Both of them were very professional. The old furnace was stuck in a small closet and they had to disassemble it in order to get it out. I felt bad for them having to do this as it was getting quite warm. So, these guys came out to my elderly relative's place to check something and ""inspected"" the thermostat. Ooops, A/C no longer will come on but heater will. ""you will need a new thermostat, and maybe a new A/C unit"" (which isn't that old).

Nonetheless this upset my elderly relative, and they called me. I found a YouTube on how to reset their thermostat, they followed it, and oila! everything worked.

Yovanni was great! Arrived on time to check our 2 A/C systems. He was knowledgable, friendly and very thorough. He made several recommendations for our upstairs unit as it performed well today but struggles when temps are 90+ outside. He set up a follow up appointment to review options including ductwork improvements to help with air balancing and air noise. He spent over 3 hours at the house performing the maintenance, diagnostic service and duct inspection.
He was very meticulous in following CDC recommendations for distancing and using PPE. I'm happy with today's work and look forward to our follow up appointment to determine next steps.
