So we decided to sign with salt for a ""membership"" after they helped with an electrical thing since they also do plumbing and hvac.

On every visit they found some expensive issue that needed urgent help, with premium pricing to go with it.

This last round they mentioned our water heater expansion tank needed replacing and charged $150 to relight the pilot. They wanted $600 for an expansion tank replacement. They confirmed the parts were roughly $50 and it took less than an hour to do.

Well, we called Proven for a second opinion. They charged $57 for the service call and confirmed the expansion tank is fine- but they charge under $300 for the replacement. They also came out faster.

Overall this company was sarcastic, claimed I ""just wanted lower pricing"" when I challenged them on the quote and otherwise were the opposite of trustworthy and helpful. Skip this company.

Two waaay negative experiences with this company. 1st time they came and tried to just upsell us did nothing to take care of the problem just said we needed a new water heater. Got a second opinion and Turns out we did not need a new water just the temperature valve in our shower was stuck. Charged us 100$ to come out even though they were promoting a 49$ service call. 2nd time i was super skeptical so i did my due diligence up there and guess what!? They did nothing they told us they had done example drain my AC pan and ""tune up"" my system. Tech literally just sat up there and very lightly just cleaned the pvc drain pipe and just sat up there. I HAVE PROOF!!! I should show this to someone maybe the news! They are supposed to be taking care of us in this heat! Didn't do anything but try and charge us $1600 to ""clean the system "" didnt wipe down the obvious or even take the time to fix anything he possibly could. I mean you were already out here!!!! Be careful with this company and always get a second opinion. All this with the company ""INSURANCE"" what a joke. Tech was super nice though but dont need nice needed it fixed.

Shame of you, SALT

Very disappointed by their bait & switch tactics. We received an email stating that their electricians were going to be in our area and that they were waiving their ""dispatch fee"" of $99.00. I made an appointment to see what it would take to have electricity run down to the pond to place an aerator. When they called to confirm their arrival on the day of the appointment, I told them I would also wanted the light fixtures repaired in the garage. I was informed that I would be charged a ""diagnostic fee."" I asked if they would apply the diagnostic fee against the cost of repair if I were to have them do the repair. I was told no.

What is this? You waive the ""dispatch"" fee but then are going to charge me for a ""diagnostic"" fee? That's BS.

I had a great appointment with them to get a quote on installing a $35,000 generator/propane gas/electric panel replacement project and was looking forward to doing business with them.

Needless to say, I will never use SALT in the future and will let everyone in my real estate investor group know of their bait and switch tactics. SALT, you were neither Salt nor light. You left a bad taste in my mouth!!

$289.00 ""diagnostic fee"" required for electrical work PLUS the cost of any actual repair? Sending out ""No Dispatch Fee"" e-mails ""because we have electricians in the area"" is just scummy marketing.

Just called for an estimate. Seemed like an easy fix. I diagnosed it down to the outlet under my sink or the garbage disposal not working correctly. I was originally quoted $99.00 service fee. That quickly escalated with doing a whole electrical diagnostic for $289.00. My house is only 3 years old. It doesn't need a whole electrical diagnostic. This raised some serious red flags for me. They may be Christian in thought, and the rep was pleasant, but they are sure in the business to stay a business. I am no sucker, so I decided to move on.

Called to get a quote on a single light install and they wouldnt even offer a rough estimate. Instead wanted to charge a non-refundable $99 charge to get a quote. After reading other reviews their quotes are super high, so the chances are I would accept it, but would already owe them $99

Scam and Lie Theater is what Salt stands for. I now understand why they require 50% payment up front before any work is done, in case the ""mark"" recognizes the scam and tries to back out. So risking flood water damage to ceiling for a missing sensor which actually in place, heat and cooling loss from gaping holes (none found and documentation photos clearly someone else's system), mold over growth ( none found) causing illness, plus more unprovable HVAC problems- price tag $4000, 1/2 required day of presentation. Brought back memories of time share sales pitches only slicker and more polite. They require our prayers.

I would highly recommend SALT Light and Electric. When it came to customer respect and service they checked every one of the boxes for me.
The first job I used them for was to do some electrical upgrades. This was done above and beyond my expectations.
Later my AC unit failed to cool.
As soon as we notified SALT that they got the contract they brought a portable AC unit until a new system could be installed.
The Installation crew showed up as scheduled. The crew introduced themselves and then explained how they would proceed. Extreme care was taken as they removed the old equipment and brought in the new.
SALT did both jobs with meticulous precision.
They are the best company I have contracted with.

I am enrolled in their monthly fee service which offers ""front of the line"" response and yearly AC service checkups.

Their annual check-up is primarily an opportunity to find marginal or non existant issues and convert them to serious problems requiring immediate attention. Further, their pricing is so far outside reasonable it is shocking.
Their techs are evidently well trained to diagnose and quote the work for maximum revenue to Salt.

They don't need your business. I know because I've been trying to give them money for months and they aren't interested. They won't give me an estimate OR say ""no, we don't want the job."" They just don't communicate and left me hanging multiple times. I had called for a quote to install a transfer switch. I didn't even competitively bid it. They said they needed an in-person estimate to scope the project (ok, fair enough). I met with their estimator for 90 minutes. He stated I'd have an estimate within a few days. It's been 3 months. I tried to follow up. I sent emails, I called the office. I've waited on a reply within 24 hours a couple times. I just tried once last time. I got the same run around. I asked to speak to a supervisor or a manager or someone who had the ability to move this forward --- just to ask them to send a new estimator already because it's nuts that I can't get this. I DID verify that Kasey, my estimator, still worked for them. He does. They just can't seem to get him to do this. Also, all the managers and supervisors are in a meeting and apparently have been in that meeting since around April 5, 2023. (Today is 4/24/23).
