Every time I have an electrical issue I call Rudy. He always returns my phone call, we set up a time for him to come by and he always fixes the problem. Most important, he saves me from spending too much on things that aren't necessary or over priced. He's honest and gets the job done.
I've used Rudy for years and recommended him to many of my friends.

I live in 1950's house that has had some electrical issues. Old wiring mixed with new. Rudy has fixed everything over the years, adding new when needed. Just this week I had a small outlet issue - cutting off power to a whole area of the house. Rudy called me back and helped me troubleshoot the problem over the phone. He explained it in easy terms & we got to the bottom of it. His electrical knowledge is like no other electrician I've know. ( we've remodeled & built many homes over the years.) Rudy returned my call quickly explained he was out of town and Kyle is covering for him. Kyle made contact and we sent him drawings and intel by email which he confirmed and setup preliminary time to meet. 0900 July 11 Kyle called to get address and said he would be here at 1000 or shortly after to inspect our job. At 1100 Kyle was still not here. I tried calling, left message.. At noon i had to go to work. Sent Text, sent email, not a single reply. These are the facts and not opinions. July 13 update. I called Kyle from a different number he stated "" sorry i am a busy guy ""

Rudy has helped us several times handling electrical issues and upgrades inside and outside our house. He has even done troubleshooting over the phone with me, which has saved us lots of money, avoiding expensive visits from the home warranty electricians my insurer wants to send out.

He is courteous, kind, and always willing to help his customers!

I just wanted to update my sdg&e bill. Since Rudy came out and found our crazy situation. My bill has been $130. For both months since. And I have been able to use my dryer instead of hanging my clothes on the line. I also don't have to un plug everything. Thanks for the awesome job Rudy.

Rudy came and installed a chandelier that 2 other electricians said they could not install for me. Not only does it look perfect but it took him no time at all! I will hire him for all electrical needs that I may have in the future.

Rudy is an excellent electrician. He has done numerous jobs for us, rewiring a garage, putting in new electric outlets, upgrading electrical wiring that was funky, and trouble shooting an old duplex in Del Mar. He is the best and I wish he had a twin who was a plumber! He is friendly, helpful, and explains everything in plain English to the electrically challenged. If you need a good electrician, hire him.

Looking at Rudy's reviews (all great), maybe I just had a bad experience. Maybe he was having a bad day. Or maybe he has paid/asked friends to post on Yelp. I don't know. This review solely pertains to what he charged and his professionalism. I contested his charge. He was defensive and confrontational about it. His basic point was that he has a lot of experience and therefore is in his right to charge more. I told him I spoke to another electrician who would've charged half what Rudy did (others with knowledge said I was overcharged as well). He asked how old the guy was. He was younger than Rudy. Rudy then said he's older, therefore more experienced and better. A curious argument in my opinion. I then asked if my electrician was 60 years old (Rudy is in his 50s according to him) if that would've changed his argument. He didn't respond. That's how the conversation went. We were on a call and he either then hung up or got disconnected. I don't know. I've never posted on Yelp before. I told Rudy during the call that the only thing I could do was post a bad review of him. He said to go for it. So, here I am following his wishes. Perhaps the mundane task he did for me was done with the ultimate class. I can't say. Everything seems to be fine so I'm not contesting his work. As I said before, this solely pertains to his fees and professionalism. In my mind, any electrician could have done what needed to be done. Perhaps Rudy is the go to guy for complex jobs. I can't say. But, in my opinion and based on my experience, if you're looking for some standard electric work and don't want to be charged a premium by a guy who seems to think he's the greatest thing to happen to electricity since Thomas Edison, then don't contact Rudy.

I also found Rudy after numerous attempts of finding an electrician. I read his beaming reviews and I am so glad I called him. He was professional from the moment he took my call to the time he finished the job. He removed an ancient range that was hard wired into our kitchen wall and installed an outlet for a new range. He set up the new range and took his time ensuring that it was all set and safe to operate. I highly recommend Rudy because he is honest, personable, hard working and extremely reasonable with his rates. Now that I have found Rudy, he will be our only choice for electricians in the future.
