Recommended Customer Reviews
Disappointed in the quality of the initial a/c replacement installation in 2017 and how difficult it was to get a resolution, and that resolution finally came two years later at a hefty cost. Instead honoring their labor guarantee, they make excuse after excuse. I would have never used them again after the first experience, but the work was so bad I couldn't get another company to take the job to fix it. Unreliable!
Mary C.After our previous HVAC company left us and our pets sweltering with no AC in 90+ heat for 5 days (and gave us attitude when we said we couldn't afford $8k in HVAC costs), we fired them and called around to set up estimates from other companies.
The Reliable tech was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He was there at the scheduled time and immediately gave us options and solutions, (including installing temporary AC window units to help us through the heat wave and until our new system could be installed!) . Reliable was even able to get a crew in to replace our HVAC system on the 4th of July! The install crew were awesome! They got everything done quickly and made sure everything was perfect before they left.
Reliable really saved us and honestly, treated us with way more respect and concern for our situation than other companies did. I'll def recommended them to friends and family.
I wish I had done my due diligence better and saw reviews before agreeing to let them service my units. I have been suffering for past 5 days without Air over the 4th. Struggling with migraines heat stroke with temp 100 degree in my home. Reliable got my emergency request and said they can do it today. Took off work and the folks showed up to only tell me they are here as part of maintenance plan rather than repair my units. I specifically asked over and over will the come with freon and stuff to REPAIR my units.. they said yes. Now they tell me that's another service call and I will still be without air condition. This is UNACCEPTABLE!! This company has wasted my time. I hate I had 2 other companies that have more integrity to not try and sell me on BS maintenance plans but they were coming to FiX. How dumb to not send REPAIR people to me. Be warned folks this company is all about greed and money they totally disregarded servicing my desperate need for getting my air conditioner working. It needs freon what I specifically told them in my email request, appt request and they still fck me over. I'm psst!
****Update: I will change my review from 1 to 4 **** stars. After an unsuccessful conversation with a manager named Wayne to resolve my issue thank goodness for a customer service manager Tiffany Brown who saved the day by coming up with a real solution to help resolve getting my air conditioner repaired and freon. The repair guys that were here were able to fix units without a new service call for another day. I am changing my review to give the company credit for stepping in to help my problem resolved so I can get cool air. I Live in Atlanta where it's been deadly hot and humid. Its Hard to survive in this heat for long. I appreciate the time company took to make sure I got my units fixed not just filter changed. They got me upset first but they showed they valued their customer. For this..I appreciate.
Maria L.POOR customer service. Have had to call three times after they closed my work order because they showed up w/o calling ahead of time like they promised me they would, I had to leave the office because it was too hot to stay.
Promised to arrive this morning between 8:00-10:00AM, so far nothing, called again. The CS rep that answered does not know what she's doing. Had to repeat myself several times. No resolution to the problem.
Cornell R.Do not use this company! They are scammers. They came and did a job for me and had me sign an invoice that did not reflect the the job they did (Chris, the manager said they do this to all of their customers). In the description it says that they replaced my valves and put in a thermal expansion tank... those did not happen. They also didn't check my PSI to see that it was too high until after the job and told me that it was too high and that it would cost me an extra $450 to fix. They also just gave me a phone that said ""sign here"". I signed off on the false description, being too trusting. When I spoke to the manager he defended everything and offered hardly any compensation. Go with a different company
Called for ""no cooling"" in a small office building. Tech called to tell me that the HVAC unit was out of refrigerant and recommended replacement of the entire RTU since r-22 would be completely phased out by 2020. I had a previous quote from another company of around $17,000 for a new unit and that was considered an exceptionally good price. I asked the tech to get me a quote on a replacement unit. I never heard back from him. He also stated that the cost of r-22 was in excess of $100/lb and the unit held 30lbs, so the cost would likely exceed $4000. All he seemed interested in was in pushing for complete unit replacement with a maintenace contract
To get a second opinion, I called Trane and asked them to check the unit. They replaced a bad condenser fan (not caught by Reliable tech) and fixed the leak and added 20lbs of refrigerant at a cost of $30/lb.
Trane saw no reason for replacement of the unit. The unit is 13 years old, but has been unused for 90% of that time. When Trane inspected the unit a year earlier, it was deemed to be in excellent condition.
Neuman E.Misdiagnosed, work done that was totally not necessary. A/C drain line went to a french drain, the techs thought it went to the street, left it in a real mess. I called them several times, talking to people who were not conversant with field ops, to no avail. Having just paid them$2400 for a new furnace and a $150 service charge trying to get the A/C fixed
I was not receptive to the new charge of89.00 if they came back. ( no problems withA/C until getting the furnace ) I was told they were waiting on a new part for a 2 day delay but when challenged their rep admitted this was not the case, among other inconsistencies from them.
Long story short, I will have to finish the job myself.
Marcus F.I had a problem with my Carrier a/c unit the other day. It wasn't blowing any cool air out. Contacted Reliable Heating & Air for service and a technical came out today. Checked the system and informed me that the capacitor on the blower fan outside was bad and it was about a pound low on Freon. The repair technician stated it was going to cost a total of $569.95 to repair. Because I didn't want you to wait another day in a hot house approved the repair. What I'm frustrated with is that they charged me $240 for a capacitor that cost around $20. What a rip-off. And to top it off the repair technician was at my house less that 45 min. If it weren't for the excessive overcharge for the capacitor I would have given them a minimum of 4-Stars. Because I believe this is a standard practice for the company, I would not recommend using Reliable Heating & Air.
Reliable came out to install a new system three days ago. The crew was friendly, but they left without relighting my pilot light and did not inform me of this, meaning I have not had hot water in my home since their departure. I called them today to get someone out to relight the pilot light so we could have hot water again and was told that there would be a $50 service charge, that I had told the installers that I would relight the pilot light, and that they couldn't fix it until the next day. I have no idea how to light the pilot light and never would have said that I would do this. Reliable's lack of action is alarming.
Kathryn S.I am following up to my first review posted 17 days ago: The measure of a good business is not the job they do but how they stand behind it. These guys had some difficulties but they definitely stood behind their work and took care of every problem and met or exceeded our expectations. Thank you.
