Set an appointment over two weeks in advance took the day off and they were a no call no show

I am sad to see all of the negative reviews for Reliable. Many people will take the time to write negative reviews but rarely review their positive experiences.

Our AC unit went out in August and we had 4 companies come out. The first one was sent through the warranty company and never even gave us a quote- they just told us that our unit was old (prior to the 410 units) and would need to be replaced (or would be very expensive to repair IF we could find someone to do it.) The 2nd company came out and said they would fix it at cost but then said it was old and they could only replace it and it would cost ""around $6000 and they didn't know when they could get to it."" The 3rd company came out and, after arriving late, the salesman mentioned several times that he was salary and I translated that into ""unmotivated."" It took a considerable amount of time, in my opinion, for him to come up with a quote, and then when he went over it with me, there was an entire folder of paperwork to review. My patience was already short with the heat and this did not help. Turned out that they wanted to sell us a furnace and an AC for $9000 after I had already been told by the previous 2 companies that our furnace was in good shape, so that was an immediate red flag.

When I finally contacted Reliable, they fit me in the same day. We already knew we were going to have to replace the unit since the cost of repairing (and turn-around time) didn't make sense. The salesman (Joe) was on time, very courteous, and did not waste my time. He quoted me for exactly what we needed and also recommended that we get our circuit board replaced due to its age (and potential for failure) but it did not necessarily need to be replaced right now. The price was very reasonable compared to the other companies and the warranty was better.

After we decided to go with Reliable, I contacted Joe back directly (which was also nice, considering that many times you can't get a hold of the same person at a company anymore) and he made time to fit me in on a Sunday to sign the paperwork. Then he had us set up the following day (Monday) for service between 9-10.

The following day, the tech called at 8a to tell me he was running a few minutes behind, to which I remarked that I wasn't expecting him until 9 anyway, so no problem there. He showed up 20 min later to begin the work, advising me that the reason he was late was due to his assistant not coming in that morning, so he was working by himself. At first, I was a little concerned because he was replacing the entire unit by himself, but he went to work and I returned to my work upstairs.

Around 1p, he said he was done. I was amazed! He had completed the work outside (I could already tell because the air was working again), replaced two thermostats, as well as our circuit board in the attic in 5 hours, and this was without easy access to our backyard since we live in a townhouse. We have not had any issues with our new system since it has been installed. I also feel like I need to add that both the salesman and the technician wore boot covers and masks every time they were here.

My parents have also used Reliable for years and remain happy with their service. Bottom line is that they did exactly what they said they would do, they showed up on time (even early), accomplished the installation with one technician, and the price was on point with what was expected. These are tough qualities to find in most service companies these days, so I am very glad that we decided to call them.

I requested an annual HVAC tune-up for the 2 systems in my house last week. The technician comes, inspects and then tells me that the refrigerant (R410A) is low on both my units. He immediately offers to refill them for $199 per lb per unit. This is the first red flag. Shouldn't he offer to identify where the leak is? The R410A in an AC system should never leak. If it leaks, the leak should be fixed before refilling. Refilling the refrigerant without helping to identify and fix the leak, is like fleecing the customer, plain and simple.

They did not clean/wash the condenser coil but clearly stated in the invoice they did. I am simply appalled at the level of service. I paid $210 for this Gold maintenance service but I don't think I even got a rusted iron level of service. I request that Reliable Air focus on living up to their name ""Reliable"", because in my experience, it is anything but reliable.

Having the AC go out in September is no joke. I contacted Reliable and in less than 24 hours a technician was at my door. Lyndon was courteous and professional. Within minutes he had determined the problem and replaced the part. He was very pleasant, considerate and wore a mask. Thanks Reliable and Lyndon for helping me keep cool!!

I scheduled a cleaning and check up on my condenser unit outside. I was told by Reliable that my tech would be there between 12 and 4. I called several times after 3 to see what the ETA would be. I was sitting there in an empty house because it is being sold. After the third call the tech finally calls me back and said he would arrive at 4:30. At 5:15 he called and said he would be there in 15 minutes. 90 minutes late again then he said it would take 2 hour to complete the task. I wouldn't make it home until 8 o'clock. I have had reliable work on units at both my properties. I will never call again. Shumate said they would meet me tomorrow for their first appointment because they knew how long it would take.

FYI...when I originally called Reliable for an appointment, they said it would be about 2 weeks out and they would call back with details on date/time. When I hadn't heard anything after several days, I called to ask Snd they said that was incorrect and scheduled me for the same week!

Terrible experience. We bought a house with a Trane unit installed 6 years ago, and also have warranty on the unit as well as the gold maintenance plan. 3 weeks ago, our AC unit stopped working and thus far we have had 5 technicians (including a supervisor) come in to ""fix"" the unit. The first technician duct tape two capicitors together and short circuited our AC unit, which the other technicians had to fix. AC works for a few days after, but then breaks again.

We've tried to get in touch with a manager, but leaving an email through customer service apparently does nothing. One of the technicians personally reached out to the manager to call us (which he said would take 30-40min) and we waited for 3 hours with no call back. Scheduling our 6th appointment today, and the customer rep TALKS OVER ME and hangs up while I am in the middle of speaking.

The fact that they sent over technicians that clearly did not know what they were doing and took shoddy shortcuts that potentially broke our AC unit even more is appalling. Gold maintenance plan means nothing if it takes them 5 tries (and counting) to fix the system and are unable to find the root cause of its problems. We have been living on/off AC for the past 3 weeks just due to the incompetence of this company.

Reliable heating and air provided terrible service. They came to fix a leaking shower and charged $500+ for the repair. The shower began to leak again and it turned out the initial technician had misdiagnosed a relatively simple problem. The repair of the misdiagnosed repair cost $400+. I called the manager five times to secure a refund of the balance of the repair costs. I got one call back, but we never connected. I made several calls to customer service and eventually got the credit.

During the second visit I identified a separate repair I wanted completed. The technician could not do it on site given he did not have the part on his truck, so we made an appointment for him to come back two days later. I watched him schedule the appointment in his phone. He never showed and never called to tell me he wasn't coming.

Absolutely terrible service, unserious technicians. I would never call them again.
