I called Reliable and had them come out to replace a Motor Run Capacitor that failed. I had already ordered the replacement part for $10 dollars on Amazon, but I didn't want to go the weekend without A/C so I called Reliable. The technician was friendly and showed up on time (during the 4 hour window). They wanted to charge me $240 for the capacitor plus the $89 service fee - $329 plus tax. I expect there to be a markup on equipment and I expect to pay labor - but a $230 markup? I told Reliable not to complete the work and I still had to pay the $89 dollar service fee. The part came on Monday and it took me 15 minutes to replace the capacitor and get the A/C unit cooling. They wanted to charge me over $329 for 15 minutes of work plus a $10 part. I understand that the common home owner would not replace a capacitor, but to charge $240 for a $10 part is ridiculous.

Buyer beware! Scam operation! We bought an $11,000 Zoned Trane system from them in 2014. We had a service warranty, after a few years they put in a comfort guard monitor system that alerts if any issues arise...it failed after two days. We called and called (as did other people we know to get theirs fixed) and they never came out.
Fast forward a year, our AC unit stopped working. After metering the power outside, checking breaker panels, resetting the control board, we had an inkling it was a bad capacitor. The entire system is on a 10 year warranty, we called them for service.
Our house was 96 degrees for 2 days at this point. They sent a ""tech"" out who looked like he had been on a 5 day methamphetamine bender who kept twitching and could barely talk. He immediately diagnosed that the Compressor had failed and it would be over $1500 to fix under warranty and they don't have the part, I guess their tech's make $300/hour. I called the number to speak to a manager, the girl on the phone says that there are none, but someone else would call us back tomorrow...that never happened either.
So we called Trane directly to complain, they sent a tech out the next day and told us our Compressor was 100% perfect working order and holding a charge, the problem was a cheap off brand capacitor that had failed when Reliable did the install...the exact same part I had told them about on my first call.
Stay away! They take shortcuts, they try to scam you in time of need and hire incompetent kids.

Had three different men come out. Problem not solved after three visits. (Over a week without air.) On the third time I was quoted 2500k. Thanks Reliable! You are not an honest company. Got my air fixed for 1100k with someone else. Do not trust this overpriced company.

The tech came out yesterday to our house before even looking at what was wrong tried to sell us a new unit. Then he said that it needed Freon and would take probably 2 lbs @ 250 a lb. we agreed. As I returned from the store 5 mins later I noticed he had the tank which he was trying to get Freon out of it but by the looks of how he handled it the tank seemed empty. He came into the house said it only took 1 lb and the charge was $350 and change for Freon and diagnosis. (by the way never said what it said in the diagnosis) He said wasn't sure if it would hold a long time but if it happened again to please call. He went upstairs and close the attic then was on his way. HMMMM no receipt didn't wait to see if it cooled off just left. Well unit is frozen again and didn't cool. very angry at the fact that we were lied to and was just trying to sell a unit to us. Getting my money back stopping the credit card charge.

HVAC Technician came out for a call where I said I believed there was a refrigerant leak. He immediately tells me my HVAC system was too old to repair until I showed him a label showing it was actually a 2016 system, then he claimed inconsistently at various points components were broken. He short-circuited a capacitor, causing a huge spark and burn marks on my unit that are still there, and then told me I needed to pay for a new capacitor. He declined to check for refrigerant leaks and charged me several hundred dollars.

I reached out to Reliable with my concerns and that my root issue was not resolved and so my original issues had returned, leaving an email and phone number. Still no response whatsoever from Reliable so I will continue to pursue my options. Their ""guarantee"" is a joke when you have to complain publicly to get them to even respond to you.

I called Reliable to look at my Rheem gas hot water heater that kept giving me issues. A man named Jim showed up, said it was out of code, told us he could not work on it and left. 20 minutes later i got 3 different water heater proposals from him ranging from 2k to 6k. I had 5 Star plumbing come over the next day and after replacing the expansion tank and the heat trap nipple on the cold water inlet side, the problem was repaired.
Apparently the current code states that the PVC water lines can not be within 6"" of the exhaust. I have COPPER water lines that extend 12"" past the exhaust. I don't think he even looked at the system or was to lazy to make the repair. This is not a company that i would trust nor will i ever ask to look at repairs again. He didn't even try to help or give recommendations to help repair the system, just tried to sell me a new 40 Gallon hot water heater for $2,200 installed. Not what i consider a quality tech. Frankly i'm disappointed in the company.

Not sure what is up with them. Last year, Feb, they were great, had a 2 ton a/c put in for $3700 which included two smart thermostats, one being moved from its original spot. They quoted a Trane furnace for $1700 back then, I declined. So, the fan went out in one of my 20 year old units and now they want $2800 for a Trane furnace! SP Heating & Air quoted $3500...for two furnaces, the same model, S8x1 40,000btu. I'm just shaking my head. Reliable wanted $5266 for 2 furnaces, giving a $400 discount for 2. $1700 MORE for the same products! $1300 MORE for the discount Goodman furnaces.

Btw, their website has a coupon for a larger capacity 60,000 btu furnace for $1795! Probably a Goodman, but on the estimate they said they only would take off $200/furnace if I wanted Goodman. Why are they trying to charge me $2600 for a smaller furnace!?

Could not say enough great things about this company and it's employees! It's taken me a week to be able to leave this review but Alicia you are a ROCKSTAR, in a time of chaos for me and my family with husband in the hospital our air conditioning unit chose to go out on us and she was there to help me and give me comfort and problem solve in a time I thought I couldn't handle one more negative thing. She made sure there were window units sent to our home to keep my babies cool U til we can get a new unit installed in the am and she personally took to making sure we were taken care of! Tom was very kind and patient in explaining to us our options and even followed up the following day to make sure we were taken care of. Disappointed in the quality of the initial a/c replacement installation in 2017 and how difficult it was to get a resolution, and that resolution finally came two years later at a hefty cost. Instead honoring their labor guarantee, they make excuse after excuse. I would have never used them again after the first experience, but the work was so bad I couldn't get another company to take the job to fix it. Unreliable!

After our previous HVAC company left us and our pets sweltering with no AC in 90+ heat for 5 days (and gave us attitude when we said we couldn't afford $8k in HVAC costs), we fired them and called around to set up estimates from other companies.

The Reliable tech was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He was there at the scheduled time and immediately gave us options and solutions, (including installing temporary AC window units to help us through the heat wave and until our new system could be installed!) . Reliable was even able to get a crew in to replace our HVAC system on the 4th of July! The install crew were awesome! They got everything done quickly and made sure everything was perfect before they left.

Reliable really saved us and honestly, treated us with way more respect and concern for our situation than other companies did. I'll def recommended them to friends and family.
