Smelling what we thought was a gas leak this New Years Eve, we called our long-time service provider, Reliable. We were given a 4-8pm service appointment. After 3 calls assuring us we would hear from someone, at 11 pm, we finally had to call the Atlanta Gas Light emergency number for help. They were here in 15 minutes and fixed our problem. My recommendation if you're looking for a HVAC provider, DON'T CALL RELIABLE HEATING AND AIR!

We're firing them first thing next week.

I just spent almost $7000 on a new hvac system and five hours later it's not working. It's getting colder and colder. After hours and four phone calls I still haven't heard back from anyone, none of the techs or managers are answering their own receptionists, none of the sales reps or the guy who installed it are answering their personal phone numbers, and I'm told second hand that I might just have to be cold tonight. What kind of operation is this?

I scheduled online for an estimate a month in advance . I also chose a window of time that fit our remaining schedule for that day. One week before, I received confirmation for my appointment and was pleased thus far. One day before my scheduled appointment, I received another text confirming my appointment, correct day but a late afternoon window. However, I originally scheduled an am window because we would not be available later in the day. After speaking to an Alex , he acknowledged the wrong window was on the text but assured my am appointment. I phoned in the morning of only to be told it would be 1:00 - 5:00 pm. I wasted an entire month being on reliables schedule only to be told "" The online schedule is not always RELIABLE.""
Things do happen. However, for all of my changes to happen 1 day before with no accommodations other than to say the system is not reliable is bad business. Moved on to another company who believe in it own schedule, technicians, and product.

what a con. last year my wifes aunt got a quote for repair of her heating furnace, she couldnt afford it and when we found out about it recently we offered to pay for it. This last week we called back and they gave my wife a quote to replace the blower. on a side note they never came out to give us an updated quote they just gave my wife a quote over the phone based on the year old original quote. She OK'd the repair and the tech came out and replaced the blower. That was a monday, the heat worked till wednsday and then quit working. My wife called back and they sent a tech back out who told her that it was electrical and that he couldnt do the repair, so today another tech who suppopsedly could work on the electrical was going to come out and fix that but now he has called her and informed her that it will be a $1500 repair without even coming and seeing it for himself. Now a quoted repair job of $700 has an added cost of $1500 only on the say so of an unqualified tech. This is unprofessional and dishonest in every way. So now i have to call Casteel to come and figure out how to rectify this catasrophee. I will be filing a formal complaint.

Update: In an attempt to ""resolve"" the issue the technician repeatedly interupted me and talked over me rather than actually try to listen to what my complaint was. Needless to say i will not be doing business with them again. or recomending them.

Unfortunately we purchased a new furnace from these scam artists 8 years ago and have regretted ever since. It has been nothing but trouble. I could write a book of issues these scammers have perpetrated but they have so, so, so many bad reviews that I won't waste my time. STAY AWAY !!!!! D.C.

We have an annual maintenance plan with Reliable Heating and Air, and they sent a representative out last Wednesday (10/28) to service our HVAC units. This was routine annual maintenance. The representative inspected our units, confirmed they were all working normally, ""serviced"" them, and completed a form that included the pressure of coolant in each of the units. That evening, we noticed that it was humid in our basement, so we turned down the thermostat. The basement never cooled, and the unit ran all night. The next morning we called Reliable Heating & Air. They sent out a technician on Friday (10/30) who said that there was zero pressure for the coolant in that basement unit, presumably from a ""bad coil."" The technician also noted that the units had not been cleaned, as they are supposed to be during routine maintenance. Reliable is now insisting that 1) their representative did perform the routine maintenance on 10/28, and 2) the coil failure is a coincidence. These 2 items couldn't both be true.

Don't be sad for the bad reviews, it's to enlighten potential customers. I made the mistake of purchasing 2 units (hvac) from Re""LIARS""liable. The experience started off great, but after 1 month the new units had to be serviced, another time after that prior to 3 months new. Customer service is horrible, and unfortunately after purchase you will need this part of the company for unit(s) its a TOTAL NIGHTMARE!!!!! They tell you one thing and you get the complete opposite, and to make matters worse they call and tell you lies and apologize knowing that they are sticking it to their PAYING CUSTOMERS! If this was the last company in Atlanta, you would fair better with less headaches to have another company from another state sell you a unit. They are in need of a name change, they are NOT ""Reliable"" they are ""LIARS""!!!!!!!!! When companies grow to fast and forget how they got to the top, this is what happens. News flash.......bad experiences and nightmares will travel far quicker than the billboards and tv advertisement, it will haunt you down!
