I was thoroughly impressed with Eugene and Prime Electric. He responded right away, he scheduled an appointment, sent a reminder and was on time! Eugene's demeanor was professional, pleasant and I felt comfortable immediately upon meeting with him. He gave me a very fair quote to diagnose the multitude of problems I was having all through my house. I had previously been quoted thousands of dollars by a different contractor. On the day of service once again on time, professional, he and his partner quickly trouble shot all of the issues I had, and he was able to fully remedy all of them within a short period of time. His fee stayed the same as his initial quote even though he did more than just diagnose. Eugene is a trustworthy, professional contractor and I HIGHLY recommend his services. We are already getting another quote from him for more projects.

Requested a 20amp circuit be installed along with interlock kit and generator inlet for my home (and accompanying electrical box). Eugene provided a fair estimate but required a deposit up front to ""reserve a date"" and he never came to my house to scope the project and was reluctant to discuss details over the phone. He solely relied on text messaging, which was... different, but worked fine. He showed when he said but came with the wrong parts for a 20a inlet system. Lucky for me, I already purchased the correct parts (cover, inlet plug, etc.) and he was able to use most of them. He was okay running the wire under my house as I requested, which many electricians won't do nowadays.

Pros: He was a nice guy that was pleasant to be around and he was able to get the inlet to install correctly even though it wasn't explicitly designed to fit.

Cons: I had to redo some of his work to get everything to operate correctly. First he used the wrong (plastic) box for the inlet and it all came apart shortly after he left - after plugging my geny extension cord in/out a few times. So I had to disassemble everything and reinstall a strong steel (old work) box. This took a few hours of my time. Second, I couldn't use the generator circuit during a power outage. I discovered he didn't install the interlock kit in the right spot and I had to swap around a few breakers to get it to work properly. Lastly, I asked him if he would send me an estimate to audit my electrical panel (remove old circuits that were dead, rewire, etc.) and he never got back to me.

Conclusion: not sure I'd use him again and I'd give serious thought to giving him a bigger job - you just might have to fix his work before you can safely use anything, assuming you know how.

I reached out to 3 different companies for our first rental and Eugene was the quickest to respond, the most knowledgeable, and is extremely patient when it comes to educating me about how he will be rewiring the house and upgrading the panels. He is extremely detail oriented and brought up questions in our empty kitchen that made me realize we needed more outlets for an over the range microwave and for our washer. He was always very professional-- he would quickly send me an updated invoice whenever I asked him-- and kind enough to bring in amazon packages if I was not there. His buddy he brought to help, Vince, was very kind as well. I was working on the demo of the bathroom and Eugene really didn't have to but helped me carry a heavy sink outside and also offered for me to use some of his tools that made my life a little easier. He also installed all the light fixtures I had ordered which saved me the hassle and time of doing it myself. Lastly, I think this is really important to me because many companies will ""beg"" to write a review, which I get, but Eugene never asked me once- which is what motivated me to write my genuine opinion on Prime Electric. I'll definitely be calling him for anything electrical and you should too!
