Had a hot water heater leak in the pipes, and jumped on Yelp! to find a recommended repair person.
Preferred Home Services was close by, and had great Yelp reviews.

The well dressed, professional arrived during the estimated timeframe. He saw the problem and fixed it quickly by replacing the leaking pipe.
He also saw some other potential problems that could cause a disaster at any time, and pointed this out to me.
Another pipe that was covered in insulation had corroded and the top of the heater had a significant amount of rust.

I opted to have him replace the hot water heater, which he did. As he pulled the old one out, we saw where the bottom of the heater had rusted through at the bottom in the back, where it could not be seen!

So glad I had a professional who saved me a ton of problems!
So whats the downside? I chose to buy the water heater they have in stock (was on his van), which was more expensive than running down to Home Depot. However, it is a better brand than you can find in the store.

Highly recommended for professional, friendly, fast repairs!

Even answering the call, you know you will get good service from this company. I have had numerous rental homes, and bottom line Mr. Rooter charged me 300$ to ""fix"" my kitchen sink, only to have it back up again a month later. This company came out the same day, truly professional, Manager Chris explained they have a guarantee and want the customer to be happy. I truly believe all of this, and read other yelpers before contacting them.
Bottom line, they were to the house as they said, so nice I cannot even began to say, Gary was amazing, took amazing care to talk to my tenants and myself, explaining the true problem and giving me the quote before starting any work. My disposal had rusted through bottom, and pipes stopped up additionally. They went above an beyond for me. They are 100% more professional than any company I've ever seen, have good tools, and actually care to do the job right the first time.
I told my friend, and Gary, the rep that if they treat their wives 1/2 as good as their customers... well, sign me up!! :) Seriously though, I flip homes, investment properties, know the difference in Plumbers. Preffered Home Services does the job right, with no BS. While you usually don't get what you pay for, with this company you get treated like an extremely valuable customer, shocking this day in age! I would ask for GARY every time if I could. They do AC work too! 5 stars for this company.
