I wish there was any negative rating option .We got connected to Performance Electrical through Choice warranty as our Water heater was not working. The Technician came from Performance Electrical and seemed to be a nice guy and told us that he will mention in his report that our water heater needs to be replaced. But when Choice warranty was ready for the replacement, Performance Electrical said that we have to pay additional 1000$ as our duct and wiring is old and it needs to be replaced which is not covered through warranty. We agreed to pay additional 1000$ by thinking that our whole system will be new. But to our surprise they replaced only water heater provided by the Warranty and nothing else except 15 inch copper pipe and I don't think 15 inch copper pipe costs 1000$. Now when we are trying to ask for an explanation then we are getting reply like 1000$ was charged for disposal of old heater and labour etc which is already covered by warranty. So guys please be aware of their scam.

They came out Aug 8th to fix our water heater. Technician said they would have to order a part and they will contact me in 2-3 days to schedule a time to return to repair the water heater. Week goes by, nothing. I call them to check status on the part, was told its back ordered, supply chain issues with their distributor. Ok, understandable. I had to call them every week to check the status, still back ordered. I found the exact same part is available from the water heater manufacturer, and its also available on AMAZON and numerous online retailers. So this tells me its not a back order issue, its a lazy issue. Over 2 months now (Oct 18th), and still not a word from them, never received a call or update about the repair.
DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY.

Performance Electrical has been a mixed bag for me. We had them do a light install outside which has worked out very well, fair price, good service, good tech. Courteous people as well.

Then we asked their plumbing side to take care of two issues, one was a leaky toilet tank and the other a chattering hot water side pipe. The service man changed out the flapper on the toilet, then installed a device designed to stop the chatter. Neither solution worked and I was now out $350.

I called them back, and it took a couple of weeks to get them here, the service man looked everything over and said he would have his boss call me with a bid for the repairs. It has now been about two more weeks with no contact from them. The two problems remain. I will now have to seek a new plumber and won't be using these guys for the electrical upgrade we are doing on our hot tub. Strange way to do business. Note, the device in the picture I uploaded did not solve my problem (I did suggest that they actually install it near the source of the pipe chatter to no avail.)

I do like to help small businesses, which is why we tried them to begin with, but my faith in Performance Electrical has evaporated.

This company is very shady. I have dealt with them several times through Choice home warranty company. Each time is horrible. The first time they come up with outrageously overpriced service fee to replace water heater on top of insurance covered material and fees. Because I don't want to delay the fix for my tenant so I agreed to pay for it. The next two time, they lied about ordering parts which all took almost three weeks. Each time they said it is coming. But in the end they said they didn't even order and still negotiating prices with the insurance. And they then complained about how the insurance is not paying them enough. Their scam is to drag this long so the homeowner have no choice but to pay for themselves. We were so frustrated and we consulted another contractor and it turned out our water heater problem was solved by just restart the heater. We don't even need to order parts!!! This company is dishonest and unqualified.

Hot water heater went out last year . Had a home warranty company ( which was also garbage ) hire this company to fix the heater . They came out and diagnosed what they thought to be the issue ( the thermostat I believe it's called , the main piece on the front you change temperature and light heater). Had to wait about a month for the part to come in. Part finally comes in, they installed it ( cracked some of the plastic on the new thermostat) and hot water heater still doesn't work . They refused to return the product and warranty company only allotted around 500$ for hot water heater issues( this one visit and part was the whole allotment so was stuck between a rock and a hard place at this point ) . So ended up having to keep this extra piece and not able to use the warranty anymore since allotment was gone and company wouldn't reimburse for wrong part and diagnosement, canceled the warranty and just replaced the whole heater itself. 800$ after installation and brand new heater . Would not recommend this company or the home warranty company .

This company does not even answer phone calls.I left messages since yesterday ext 10 and also ext 12 even did not get any calls back.Does not seems reliable people work here.My water heater leaking and my waranty company assigned them my job for water heater and this is I am going through.No good.After reading other reviews seems like this company tech don't do good jobs when job is signed from waranty companies cos they pick up service fees first from customers before they start.I have choice home waranty and been signed with this co.they gave 1 week time for a pointment and thus is emergency water heater leaks.

Stay FAR AWAY from this company. First off, he is not a licensed contractor his license expired in August 2021. His contractor's bond also expired in January 2023. He was sent to us from our home warranty company (which is another major disaster of a company). He never came to my home, he had me take all the pictures for the initial diagnosis and then sent to the warranty company. He ordered the wrong water heater for our space and his technician Matt installed it incorrectly. We are going on day 26 with no hot water and I am 8 months pregnant with twins and two small children under the age of 4. Do not allow this man or anyone from his company anywhere near your home. He is working illegally and is a major liability.

I have dealt twice in 3 weeks with this company. My first issue was a broken toilet and they sent an amazing plumber to fix the issue, he went above and beyond I forgot his name. Tonight electrician Jeff showed up to fix issues in my daughters room. All my daughters electric is fixed professionally and I could not ask for a nicer technician. All this work was done through my home warranty. Choice home warranty. I would welcome these men back a thank times

BEWARE.... Tech came out on 1/10/23 due to tenants having no hot water. Said that two parts would need to be ordered. Let a few days lapse and called to see if parts were in. Then called again and was told that one part was in Chicago and they do not overnight??!! AND delay due to weather conditions. I asked for the name of the vendor that they use for parts and called them directly. They said no evidence of an invoice for the order. RED FLAG
I decided to try to get the parts myself since now it is day 11 and no luck. The water heater CO said they could fex x the parts, but had to speak with the plumber first since parts were still under warranty
So I called Bob (the CEO/pres) and gave him all the pertinent info and he said he would call. He said he called and spoke with the water heater tech. I explained that the protocol for the water heater co to send the parts would be to have someone on site of the broken water heater to determine if the parts would be covered by my insurance.

So because that never happened. ( I am guessing that Performance electrical is located in Modesto and I am over 50 miles away in Castro valley, so maybe it was a distance issue that they did not want to pursue my emergency. Or possibly, a bigger job came their way and I was put on the back burner?)
Anyway, 2 weeks later, (now it's 1/23/2023) I caved in and hired my plumber. This is because Bob said ""why don't you just buy a new water heater from us instead of losing all your rent?? "" That did it...
Called my own plumber who got the part locally ( not both parts, since that was a mistake by performance Company and only one part was needed to repair the electrical) and within 4 hours, the water is working. The part was free due to my insurance and labor was done in one hour
This Company is not affiliated with BBB as far as I can see; otherwise, a complaint would be made thru them as well.
What an absolute horrendous experience this was.........

I had some plumbing issues for a week and couldn't use the sink or dishwasher! I am big on reviews as well but I took a chance, well guess who showed up as ""Brandon"" whom some spoke so poorly of? Brandon is professional very knowledgeable and works very quickly his experience speaks for itself. If I ever need service again I hope to have him knocking on the door.
