Recommended Customer Reviews
Ongaro not only installed my AC in the summer of 2021, Mark and Kevin just came and, after a brief but pleasant exchange, they identified and solved my problem (enough noise to wake the dead!) within 10 minutes. No more noise, excellent advice for avoiding the problem and making my heating & cooling system work well & last as long as possible, and, because they spent so little time doing it, they didn't even charge for their service!
Denise W.Douglas took the time to explain everything to me. He found the primary source of the water heater problem which was the plumbing configuration for the landscaping irrigation. The pressure reducer caused a closed loop system creating back-pressure for the water heater with nowhere for the expansion to escape. I am impressed!
We have had the same plumber from this company come out, multiple times including consults with another plumber above him to repair a tub filler under warranty. It's been 5 trips and the problem is not resolved. We have replaced 3 cartridges that he was most certain was the problem. Then when this didn't resolve the problem states that it is ""probably the aging water heater"" and then gave us a quote for replacement for over 5 K. The diagnosis has changed over the course. It's still not fixed after 3 months. Today was the breaking point when he started blaming us. I don't write negative reviews. I like to work through issues because most small businesses work really hard to serve. They gave it their best shot, but the experience is /was so painful.
They don't do a good job communicating with the manufacturer of a fixture. In this case it's Riobel. They are not ""allowed to get on the phone with the manufacturer of the fixture"". So here we go, what's the next plan from Ongaro? Bring another plumber who might have more experience dealing with Riobel fixtures and states that this person will call the Riobel company for details on install of the part. Plan is to return again and assess the situation the following week. Then the plumber leaves after reassembly of the tub filler and it leaks all over the floor all weekend. Then blames us for not turning it off?
Seriously, I am not making this up. You as the customer are on your own calling to get plumbing installation instructions of a part. The plumber is too pissed off to talk to the part specialist and ""they don't know anything"".
So if you would like to be blamed for the problem and deal with an angry and frustrated plumber who clearly can't fix the problem ... this is your place.
Our service technician Mike Woolf was amazing. He was knowledgeable, communicative and extremely professional, and polite. I am beyond pleased with the service I received!
Elmer C.Within 24 hours of calling Ongaro & Sons we had Douglas Weatherly report to duty at our residence. Right off the bat we liked Douglas. His big warm smile welcomes you immediately. After hearing our problem he went to work finding the cause and a solution. It's obvious that Douglas is very knowledgeable and experienced in this trade. He's so personable that we hated to see him leave! We won't hesitate to call Ongaro & Sons and request Douglas if we have problems in the future. Thank you again, Douglas...it was a pleasure to meet you.
They quote prices way higher than competitors. Worse they make it sound like they will charge a fixed price for labor and parts, but then they add the labor costs to the parts and double charge you.
If you have a nice property or look young they will try to rip you off.
Their quote was the highest , 22% more than the next lowest. They tried to upsell me by saying my disconnect needed to be replaced, my system and home is 3 years old . They said that my system pressure was low because my ducting filters had not been changed within the year . (filters have nothing to do with the coolant pressures ) They charge you 98.00 for the privilege of writing up a quote. When I inquired , they said "" Other companies just add to the cost by hiding it in their billing "". Mind you out of 5 quotes they were by far the highest price .
I would run not walk from Ongaro. This same opinion is mirrored throughout the local industry . Save your time. Don't call these guys.
Marty B.Our house is very old and had some major plumbing issues. Daniel came up with creative solutions to all our problems and fixed everything in a cost-effective and aesthetic manner. Couldn't be happier with Ongaro & Sons friendly and professional work!
Stephen T.Im not going to go into this too much because its taken too much of my time already. Guys who came out were great. Efficient. We were told it would be two guys for half a day (8 hours) $915. Made sense. They were here just over one and half hours. I explained to the boss that the guy who estimated the work had miscalculated but no issues. It Three and half hours and not 8. He told me they don't charge by the hour etc and he kept going in circles. I told him to forget it but we wont be spending the $50k on heating and A/C they quoted us. Which no doubt would have been $60k because of unforseen circumstances. That last bit may not be true but after today nothing would suprise me. $300 an hour for basic electrical work????
Jo N.From the moment we contacted them on the telephone, we knew we were dealing with professionals. They understood what our plumbing problem was, that it was outside of the house where the water came in from the street, and knew exactly what tools and how long it would take them to repair. They gave us an accurate estimate for the amount of time we would be without water in our home, and understood that it was a priority problem that needed to be fixed immediately. They showed up promptly, as promised, and fixed the problem ahead of schedule. Because it was an emergency fix, we thought the pricing would be outrageous. We were wrong and glad to be wrong. Great customer service, knowledgeable workers, and reasonable prices. We will have them back if we have any need, and will definitely recommend.
