Ongaro and sons is at my house right now. My sister in law is there while I am at work. I had a slow draining bathroom sink. We removed the pea trap and found it needed to be cleaned out in the wall. We called Ongaro ( whom I have used for 10 years) to come out on Saturday. They could not come out till today (Monday). The clog in the pipe in the wall is cleared $200 charge. The plumber says when we opened the pea trap a nut that holds the stick for the drain closure was lost. He wants $300 to do this repair. I am stuck since I have my aunt in Hospice in my house and a stream of caregivers etc who use that bathroom. I need it fixed and I need it fixed now. I feel like I have a gun to my head since I only have my sister in law to cover for me till tomorrow morning. I will never use them again. HIGHWAY ROBBERY

After being a loyal customer for the past 8 years, I have been nothing but disappointed in the last few interactions I have had. I will give them one star because during the prior 7 years they were reliable, and consistent. However, things changed.....

Among the odd job here and there, Ongaro has been cleaning out our lateral sewer line every 12-18 months as maintenance on our old terra cotta line. Then, after the last clean out, I received a notice from the city that it needed to be cleaned again 6 months later? I questioned Paul the owner, and asked if it was possible that the last clean out wasn't preformed as well. He informed me that wasn't possible. They cleaned it out again, and now 4 months later, it needs to be cleaned out again? Ongaro has not been willing to offer me any discount for the work ($576 much higher than any other plumber), even though I have been very loyal customer over the years.

I would have given 5 stars however; on the day of the appointment the company called and said there had been a rash of calls of broken heater's and a/c's & they would have to re-schedule my house till the next day. I would have appreciated getting more notice than on the day of & a few hours prior to MY appointment. With the new time, Tim the technician came out and did the routine maintenance. He was very nice and professional. Took the time to explain the new parts that were needed and what I could expect if not replaced right away. I will continue to use this company.

If you are planning a home remodel that involves HVAC call them. You might think that Ongaro is an established firm that is way over your head in terms of budget you would only be right on the first count. We had another small shop bid on the work and then called Dean Ongaro (for reasons unrelated to competitive bidding.) To our surprise the numbers came in just a few hundred more from the less experienced firm. A no brainer. The folks at Ongaro are true professionals and Dean and his brothers have built a great team.

I used this company to repair a water main leak about nine months ago. I just had the fittings explode (3/2015) under pressure. They did not use the higher pressure rated parts they claimed they were going to use, the job was extremely expensive, and oversight by management was non-existent. The young worker was eager to please but in over his head. Shut off valves were buried under dirt so were inaccessible. I would not recommend this company.

Not cheap but worth it. Ongaro guys came out on time and diagnosed my water heater problem quickly. We had to order a replacement part (under warranty) from Rheem. When it came out, Estaban came in as scheduled and discovered there was another part that needed replacement, He provided it from his truck at no charge and asked that we just give a call when Rheem delivered the replacement part, and they'd come and pick it up. So we had hot water that night instead of waiting a couple days. Thanks!
