Customers need to get a second opinion before hiring Ongaro. In May of 2023 we had a leaky water heater and had Ongaro send out a technician.
The technician blamed the previous plumber for faulty installation and said we needed a new water heater- for $10,000. (!!) The previous plumber was a well respected company with whom we had never had a problem, so we got a second opinion.
Upon getting a second opinion, we found that not only was our water heater installed correctly, but was repaired for less than $200.
Consumers can come to their own conclusions about how this happened, but unless you have money to throw away, consider shopping around for another plumbing company.

We requested a bid for the installation of an on demand gas water heater for our pool house. The pool house was new construction with a building permit. The technician who provided the bid tried to tell us that we needed a separate permit for the water heater. Their bid was outrageously high, more than double the bids we had from other licensed contractors.

Each time I have called management and have told them what an excellent job they have done in a timely and cost effective manner for me. Kristopher came out to my mothers house this week to replace a toilet for a rental. He was patient, professional and knowledgeable. He really worked with us and made my 92 yr old mother feel really comfortable. I highly recommend Ongaro & Sons not just because this experience was so good, but because each time they have been so good. They are my first call every time.

Had another stellar technician from Ongaro servicing our heater of which they installed 2-3 yrs. ago. Always very pleased with their service and technicians, they are very polite, knowledgeable, professional & personable.
Today Kevin was awesome! He even discarded 2 dead rats in the traps for me in our cellar when servicing our heater, thank you so very much Kevin! We are life- long Ongaro clients, the ultimate company with integrity!!!

We were getting our furnace serviced and filter changed. Kevin was very helpful and thorough and pointed out some things that were happening with our furnace that we needed to be aware of. He also gave us options without trying to sell us on anything specific. We will be using Ongaro in the future.

Asked for a quote on a replacement 42 gallon water heater and they wanted in excess of $4k. Blantant overcharging of a single senior woman. DO NOT USE THEM! price gouging at their best.

I was so disappointed when they came for an evaluation of why the electricity was off in our shed. They said it was due to the fact that we had too many lines on one breaker system. This was strange to me since we had recently added whole new system which had to be approved by the city, which it was. Anyway, they wanted to charge $6000 to put in another new one. Thank Heaven I got another opinion!!! I hired Ken Acevedo (415-328-2343). He carefully went through the whole system point by point and determined that issue was at the junction box. the wiring had been damaged by water and one of the wires had been damaged. It also appears that the connector was not right so . He replaced it, fixed it, and voila, Let there be light!!! (He actually took me and showed me and sent me a picture as well.) Buyer beware

They are dishonest, disingenuous, and overcharge! I was told that the $88 consultation initial consultation fee would be waived and then, of course, when I got my bill, the charge was on there. They were incredibly difficult to deal with essentially saying that I was lying to them. They overcharged for their electrical services. I would avoid them at all costs and look for an honest, reliable electrician.
They even lied on their response to my review! They installed a new switch in my kitchen! And they overcharged me, even though they said they were not going to. Don't trust Ongaro ! I see they have many poor reviews on yelp and Google. You can add me to the list of unsatisfied customers.
