I had O'Connor & Son's Electric out to my house when a few outlets went out. Tom showed up on the same day and took a look at the outlets. There were some wiring issues, which he said could be fixed, but he could not complete the job that afternoon. I was able to live with the issues for a short time, so I was willing to wait.
He gave me his card and asked me to email to schedule the follow-up, which I did in early July. I made multiple calls and emails over the course of July. Each time, Tom said he'd call me back later and I'd have to wait 2 weeks. Every 2 weeks, he'd push it out another 2 weeks. I left several voicemails and about 5-7 emails trying to lock in a date for the repair.
Finally Tom emailed back and said the last few days of August or early September. The same day, I emailed back and said those dates were work. I sent a few follow-ups to lock in a specific date, but Tom never responded.
I wish I could comment on the quality of the work, but Tom kept stringing me along without committing to a date. After 2 months of this nonsense, I've given up.
I get that O'Connor and Son's has a lot of jobs, but other Bay Area electricians have quickly responded to emails and voicemails, clearly committed to availability or referred me to other electricians if they couldn't take on a job.
We're all busy in the Bay Area. Look at other highly-rated electricians on Yelp for better communication and commitments to dates.

Tom responded promptly on the week-end and saved the day. Very knowledgeable and professional. Irish humor a bonus!

Tom came out to my place in Palo Alto on a Sunday to look at a problem. He definitely saved us as nobody else was able to come out as quickly as he did. Not only that, he promptly fixed the issue. He's the kind of guy who can solve any problem!

Should be 6 stars!
Awesome service. Excellent troubleshooter. We had had another electrician come and charge $150 to tell us we need various new electrical fittings to solve our problems, and didn't fix anything. Tom meticulously checked several scenarios and found the root cause to every issue very quickly. And none of Tom's solutions required any extra fittings. In addition, he is clearly a man of integrity, not trying to draw out the work to increase his pay check. And to round it all off, he throws in some friendly banter.

We got some electrical work in our garage Julian came to do the work and I can't rate him highly enough he is a great electrician and has great ideas. I would highly recommend O'Connor Electrics
I have gotten some work done on an entertainment Centre Julian and Tom were great and have great ideas

Tom and Julian were straightforward and professional. They worked with our concerns and the options we had were explained so we could understand. Their work allowed us to make a reasonable decision. We are pleased with their work.

Tom was very responsive, called back prompty, and was available within a day. Tom (and his sopprentice) were friendly and efficient. The service call only took about 30 minutes to fix some of my mis-wiring of an outlet. The service call was $300 which is pricey, but the service is quick and quality is high.

Tom was a great help with our little electrical problem. After I had a moment to wire our ceiling fan incorrectly and short out the house. I went to yelp to find some help on a Sunday afternoon and Tom was the first to return my call.
The customer service was great, after explaining my issue, he was at our house in about an hour or less. He surveyed the situation and realized he was dealing with an idiot and was quick to help me solve the problem and educate on how to avoid it in the future and also avoid some unnecessary cost down the road if I followed his advice.
Whole process was over in an hour and we were grateful to find someone that not only was there to help but not over sell us for our lack of knowledge. If you like a person with a great personality and expert advice then Tom would be my recommendation. We will be giving him a call again when and if I screw up the next home project.

Tom was the only guy to return my phone call for an emergency repair. Showed up, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it, all as promised. Sure, he's not the cheapest but he's fast, reliable and honest. He'll be my first call the next time we have an electrical problem.

Tom responded quickly on a weekend, and came out two days later. He saved me money and time, even when considering his not cheap house call. I appreciate that a lot. He showed me in 10 minutes what was wrong with our bathroom fan, and a way to get it fixed inexpensively. Saved us lots of time and money since we didn't have to get a new one, replace it and probably have to do drywall repairs which is what a different diamond certified electric repair company advised would be the case 90% of the time. It was obvious that Tom wasn't trying to come up with the most expensive option for me. He also showed me how to reset our stupid master bath fan control/timer that would never turn on. I had gone through so many phone calls and appointments with Maine Electric trying to get that installed and working, I just gave up on them. Tom showed me a reset button I hadn't even noticed before and which Maine had never showed me or used, and it started working, and explained how to know if the device was just flakey.
