Outstanding service from a very nice gentleman! Arrived on time, diagnosed and fixed the problem quickly. Highly recommended. I can't wait for my next electrical emergency!

In preparation for installing a new oven, we required help from an electrician. Called Tom and he came quickly even though it was the day before Thanksgiving. We were ready for the installation. When the oven arrived, it did not work. The manufacturer said that the wiring was wrong. Even though, both my husband and Tom knew the wiring was good, Tom came back over and rechecked everything. He made a difficult situation much better. Highly recommend him.

Worth it in every way. Have used them on several occasions with excellent service and Tom has also been very willing to help me with remote diagnoses and avoid call-outs on other occasions. Net result is excellent value!

Had a big snag at work and needed an electrician that didn't tell me he had a 3 week waiting list. Tom was great! He couldn't fix both of the problems (not his fault, we misdiagnosed it) I was having but was able to tell us exactly where the problem was.
I'd recommend him, funny/quirky guy and that never hurts in my opinion.

Tom came by the day I called to give me an estimate, was friendly, and did a great job of answering my questions.
For the work (a new electrical line for a dryer), his employee arrived on time and finished on time, and the cost was exactly as estimated. I appreciated how considerate he was, during the work, about making sure my indoor cats didn't get outside, or end up in the crawl space. And he did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. What more could you want?!!

I am an HVAC contractor and work with a lot of electricians. Late in the afternoon today (the day before Thanksgiving) when all my other Electrician contacts weren't answering their cell phones, O'Connor and Son's responded within 30 minutes of our call to a customer who's house lost half power while we were replacing their furnace. Tom quickly found a loose wire on PG&E's side of the meter and reassured the homeowner the issue was not related to our work. We found them on Yelp and will definitely keep their contact information for future electrical needs.

Quick service, very polite and prompt. Tom O'Connor seems like an upstanding business owner, and the electrician he sent to our home--Julian--was friendly, personable and knowledgeable.

Tom was extremely helpful during the estimate, even going so far as to come out on a Saturday. We were thinking of installing a ceiling light on a 2nd floor ilbrary/office space, and he was very forthcoming about not only costs for the project as we had planned it but also had lots of alternative solutions to suggest at higher and lower price points.
He even took the time to make suggestions on improving our ceiling lighting fixtures, something we hadn't even considered doing up to that point. He is very knowledgable about his craft and made a special effort to provide us with enough information that is was worth both our time. I highly recommend O'Connor & Sons.

Despite the large number of positive reviews, which prompted us to bring in O'Connor & Sons, we actually ended up not hiring this firm but an alternative because of the way they handled the on-site visit / estimate.
In short, I would describe them as scaremongers.
During the onsite visit to review our project they took a closer look at our recently renovated electric setup and used big vocabulary (""illegal"", ""the guy wasn't an electrician"", ""This is like driving down Middlefield at 100 mph"", ""sign-off from the city obviously doesn't mean much""), and left us just with that. Not sure if that was part of a strategy to hire them for a bigger project, but if they were really concerned about the safety of that installation they would have offered to come back same or next day to fix at least the ""seriously illegal"" issues and gave us an estimate. None of that happened.
Being concerned by their visit, we brought in another electrician company and presented the list of ""illegalities"" according to O'Connor: It turned out that every single one of them when you actually took an unbiased & closer look (i.e. opened some boxes) was either a non-issue because our contractor found a clever solution or interpreted the code correctly (remodel vs new construction) and applied good judgement.
That last part is what seemed to be missing with O'Connor. They are probably very good giving you high-quality but over-engineered and therefore very costly solutions.
And the scaremonger part just from a customer interaction point of view did not sit well at all with us.

Tom's a solid guy who knows what he's doing. We had an emergency electrical issue (burnt outlet due to prior shoddy wiring job done prior to our purchase of the house), and Tom came out and fixed the outlet. He takes the time to tell you the problem and his fix, walking you through the process. He's got a quirky sense of humor, so be prepared!
No, he's not the cheapest, but quality is always worth it's weight in gold.
