I cannot say enough good things about the service encounter that I had with Chris/My Oakland Electrician. Part of my house was without electricity because the wall sockets were not working. Chris came to my home, after hours, diagnosed the electricity problem, took the time to explain/show me what was causing the problem, told me which entity was responsible for fixing the problem, gave me the number, and told me what information to provide. I followed his instructions and my electricity problem was resolved by the next morning. He was very knowledgeable, patient, and kind. I will certainly use his services in the future. I needed an electrician today for a simple job on a recessed light conversion in our kitchen. I had already done another one myself, but this second one something was wrong in the housing unit and I was afraid to mess with it myself.
So, I called this place this morning given the great YELP reviews for Chris. He was super nice on the phone and would make it to my place in the late afternoon.
Chris definitely knows his craft, is very careful in finding out exactly what the cause of the problem is and fixes it. What more could you ask for. So, if you need an electrician who won't give you the run around and does the job right, at a reasonable price, definitely call Chris.

So, I use a commercial heater at home for heat setting various DIY projects. While the heater is a post millennial doohickey the wiring in my apartment is a century old.

I have been smoking/burning/melting one power strip after another. Hmmm, perhaps this is a safety hazard??? Reached out to my community to see who had a hidden talent in the ""real power"" category. One friend raised his hand enthusiastically. But as it goes with leaning on friends for favors it kept getting put on the back burner, fair enough. A friend had mentioned ""Chris"" at My Oakland Electrician. I googled him on Tuesday 1/20/15. Yelped him in order to vet him-- same day. Called him-- same day. He shuffled his schedule around to come by-- same day. Two days later he spent two hours at my place. Less than 72 hours start to finish. Problem solved! I am starting 2015 feeling very ""SAFETY FIRST."" Thanks Chris!

When we had the big wind storm at the end of December, we were the only house that lost power and I had only lost power in some areas of the house. Tried the fuses, circuit breakers, nothing so started calling electricians who of course, were busy and none could come out right away. Then I reached My Oakland Electrician. While he was also busy, he started asking me some questions. He then told me I had a PG&E problem, explained why and told me what to say when I called them.

Three days later, PG&E came out and it was the exact problem that he said it was! While PG&E was rude, could not care less that there were seniors in the house, I followed his instructions and they finally sent out a truck. The problem was with the line coming in from the pole.

I wish I could remember his name. The next time I have a problem, I will call them simply because of the time they took with me in trouble shooting. His extra steps saved me money and he was right.

YELP comes through again! We have tried like four different, maybe five electricians in our 1914 house. No one really made us comfortable, everyone tried to cut corners. Then I called ""My Oakland Electrician!"" So happy. This guy, Mr. Olson, he really is the electrician we needed. He dealt with the weird old wiring, made everything work flawlessly, knew exactly what to do and how to do it, and he was hugely informative, he really understands domestic wiring and what a house can present in terms of problems, and he is willing and able to explain things and answer questions, AND he was SO REASONABLE! Can't wait to save up to use him again. Also, please note, if you just want to point and say ""fix that plug"" or whatever and leave, he is fine with that too.
