Having spent over two decades in the corporate arena, I grew disillusioned with the politics and their effects on individuals, myself included. Mr. Fix-It™ has been ""fixin"" things for around 25 years. I created decks, patios, and similar structures for friends and their networks, often being paid in various manners. Often, I was compensated with tools; once, I even received a video camera for building a deck. The work was typically done on weekends or after I returned from my ""real"" job. Around 13 years back, after receiving a reciprocating saw for a deck I built for a friend, my wife took me aside and declared, ""Hey, Mr. Fix-It, your next free project is a patio cover for me, and your pricing is going to be adjusted."" And that’s when Mr. Fix-It™ was born.
