After spending 22 years in the corporate sector, I became tired of the politics and their impact on people's lives, including my own. By treating people as they deserve, taking pride in your craft, and providing excellent service, life is less complicated and much more satisfying. 65% of my residential clientele comes from referrals from satisfied customers who recommend Mr. Fix-It™ to their friends and colleagues. For about 25 years, Mr. Fix-It™ has been in the business of fixing things. I built decks, patios, and other projects for friends and their friends, usually compensated in different ways. Most times, I was paid with tools; on one occasion, I was given a video camera for constructing a deck. The work was typically done on weekends or after I returned from my ""real"" job. Around 13 years back, after receiving a reciprocating saw for a deck I built for a friend, my wife took me aside and declared, ""Hey, Mr. Fix-It, your next free project is a patio cover for me, and your pricing is going to be adjusted."" That’s how Mr. Fix-It™ came to be.
