Do not use Mr Electric of Dallas. One of my breakers I thought was broken. I called to Mr Electric and they came over on time within their time frame came over for $49.75 diagnosis. He replaced one breaker and flipped up an upside-down breaker that was in accidently in the off position. He was here a total of less than 30 minutes. He charged me a total of $373 (including the visit fee). This was a complete rip-off. I wish i billed out at that rate for 30 minutes. I will never use them again and i suggest that you move on to anybody else. The only positive thing was he was a nice guy. I would have asked for an a$#hole if i could get a cheaper rate. I'm still really pissed off about the whole thing.

Referred to Mr Electric thru Angi's list. Needed 3 ceiling fans installed to replace existing. Easy job--8 ft ceilings. Nice and experienced electrician, but price was $800--came down to $600. That was still high, but needed work done before holiday weekend. Gave us estimate for another project--very high. Would not use them again, or recommend. Although work was OK, prices are very high, and there are other licensed electrician's in this city. Shop around!!!

Disappointing experience with Mr. Electric - the service tech was on time and was friendly and polite but quoted me over $1000 to replace the LED puck lights underneath my cabinets (which are already hard wired) - this was even the ""less expensive"" option where they would give me lights that I could plug in ... which makes no sense since we already have the hard-wiring in place. The tech seemed baffled that I wasn't ready to just jump on board with that quoted price- i told him i was expecting a job that was maybe a couple hundred dollars. My husband writes the insurance for Neighborly so we try to stick with Neighborly companies but Neighborly- take note! It's clear from other reviews that Mr. Electric is not in-tune with its customers and being honest about the cost of the work that needs to be done!
I come from a family of engineers so once the tech told me it wasn't a wiring issue I just went to Home Depot, bought new puck lights, and installed them myself for $40. Next time I'll just call a local electrician and get a more realistic estimate as I definitely felt taken advantage of in this situation.

I called Mr. Electric on Tuesday afternoon to set up an appointment to get a quote to install a Tesla Wall Charger. I spoke with the girl and explained to her that I was available after 4pm and she said no problem, we'll set you up for tomorrow and you'll get a call from us to confirm when we're on the way. As you can see by the attached photo, I got a confirmation text right after that asking me to confirm my appointment for today, which I did right away.
Fast forward to today, and about 6pm and a no call no show from Mr Electric, I call the company to speak with Hailey (not sure on the spelling) and ask why no one called or showed up. She said she showed that my appointment was for TOMORROW between 12 and 5. When I told her that I had never heard of that information, she put me on hold and comes back to explain she just listened to her co-worker call me this morning and go straight to voice mail and leave a message. I told her I didn't get a phone call or voice mail from her and hadn't spoken with anyone about that appointment day or time. She becomes confrontational and instead of just attempting to solve the problem, tells me that she can go and send me the recording to prove that they called and left a voice mail. I explained regardless of what was left, I don't have a voice mail period. I said it would not serve my interest at all to say I didn't get a voice mail when I did. As she continues to argue with me, I just told her that instead, I'd go leave a review about my experience with her and find another provider.
As an aside, when I got off the phone, it seems my phone did send the voice mail to the ""spam"" folder and when listening to the voice mail left at 7:14am (so much for business hours), they call to inform me that they don't normally schedule appointments after 4pm and they can't guarantee they would have anyone available at that time, even though my first phone call emphatically made clear that I wouldn't be available until 4 and she scheduled it anyways. She then goes on to say that and by the way ""we do have a small dispatch fee of $49.95 to get a technician out."" You're telling me that you have staff that takes a call, gets my information, goes through the entire process of booking an appointment that they KNOW they can't keep, and don't even mention that they charge you $50 to come provide you with a quote? What a laughable breakdown and ridiculous way to earn someone's business. And to top it all off, to have Hailey manning your phones who has no sense of ""let's just fix this problem"" but instead would rather be ""right."" Judging by the other Yelp reviews, it looks like I dodged a bullet, but you'd be well served to steer clear of this company. For all the fancy text message appointment confirmations and things they use, it's clear they don't know up from down and now I know I was gonna get hit with a surprise charge just to show up and give me a price for the work I wanted. This way of doing business doesn't cut it in Texas guys.

The service guys were nice, but the price was robbery. I stupidly paid over $1,700 to have two NEMA 14-50 outlets installed in the garage. One was installed on the same wall and one on the other. This increases the price I do know this. However, we had a NEMA 14-50 installed at another property by another company and had the line run under the length of the house and through an exterior wall and it was a quarter of the price. there is no logical explanation as to the $1,700 price other than I was taken advantage of. I could have two of those run through the underside of a house and still barely get to HALF of the price Mr Electric charged for the garage install. They sent an email about feedback and I responded saying I felt like I was taken advantage of and would like be contacted. They never contacted and so I decided to leave a review. HAVE MORE THAN ONE COMPANY GIVE YOU A QUOTE BEFORE USING THEM. They did good work, but will take advantage of you. The service guy kept trying to upset me on a surge protector for the breaker box for an additional $400 or something. Scammy and over priced.

Called for a circuit breaker replacement from 15-20AMP. $300!!!!!
Waaaaaay too expensive for a 10min job.
Technicians showed up not wearing masks!!
Don't recommend this company.

I had Mr. Electric hang a couple of very big expensive light fixtures for me. They did an awesome job. Also they were available to come at my first convenient time window - so no long wait time. Kasibu was the installer - super capable and polite. He even went out to buy parts that I was missing for the fixture. He was quick and on time and he did the fixtures with no trouble. Just what I was looking for. Also they stuck exactly with the initial quote they gave me, and I thought the amount was reasonable.

Absolutely terrible experience, couldn't recommend any less. I used this company for general remodeling work on a house in poor condition. My original request was to help bring the electric in the house up to code and to extend electric in a garage conversion. The original quote was not close to the complete scope of work required, required 3 more additional payments doubling the price and was only discovered upon inspections from the city - it took EIGHT failed inspections and 5 weeks of trying to reschedule more appointments to get this to pass the initial inspection. I am shocked they could have such a low grasp on what is required to bring a house up to code. This company thinks that the ""inspectors are difficult"" and that is their only excuse - apparently safety and following code is not their priority. Customer service is very responsive and makes you think your work is high quality, but unfortunately they can only pass on information to the other members of this company, who are extremely unresponsive. After speaking with Todd - the ""Master"" electrician, my experience only became worse as he was extremely rude, unhelpful and unprofessional - culminating in this company pulling their permit and not completing the work that I paid them for (and not providing any refund). If you want a company to perform work not up to code - go ahead and use this one. If you want a job accurately quoted and with work done safely following code, definitely AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I paid $235 per light fixture to be installed with an additional $39 for a diagnosis. I paid less than that for the two light fixtures. I feel like I was scammed. Would not recommend this company unless you feel like throwing money away! Just do it yourself.

One of the Fluorescent Lights in our walk in closet went out, and since the house is 25 years old I surmised the fixture would need to be replaced so I purchased 2 fixtures . This was after trying to find bulbs to fit, and when the bulbs did not light, figured the fixture itself was shot. I contacted Mr. Electric through Home Advisor and they were prompt in returning my call and making an appointment. However when John came out he quoted $450 to use my lights or $375 to bypass the ballast using a different type bulb. I should have declined his work. In the end he admitted the bulbs were $8 each ( $32 total) and was completed in 15 minutes, but said it was his skill that cost so much. Really?? NEVER ENDORSING THEM !!
