Our home is 65 years old. Years ago we had iron railings placed on our front stairs. That contractor put cracks in the cement stairs and water started leaking in. Needless to say, everything under our stairs got wet, moldy, and the wood became rotten. We contacted about 10 contractors. 5 responded. Eloy construction was one of the 5. I liked his honesty and he suggested we might be able to repair the ""bad"" parts instead of a total replacement. He provided a competitive quote for these repairs. After coming in and removing the exposed rotten wood, they showed us just how bad the damage was - total removal and replacement of the front stairs was needed! Again, a ""very"" good price was provided and the work began. His lead guy (Jesus), was meticulous about all aspects of the job. Tearing it down, placing the framework, adding the cement, waterproofing, melding the stucco to our existing stucco, adding the iron railings back on (since ""code"" required them to add an additional step), and of course painting. Their crew cleaned up after themselves every day. They were here every weekday morning at 7:30 and worked until 5 or 6 pm. They did an ""Excellent"" job and even the city inspector was very impressed with their work (he came out about 4 times to inspect as the work was progressing). I can't emphasize just how happy we were with the entire job! We will be using them again!

We used Moreno Construction a couple of years ago for a bathroom remodel. We found his price to be fair and we had an easy time communicating with Eloy. There were a couple of issues that came up and Eloy immediately addressed those issues to our satisfaction. Bathroom looks great. Two thumbs up for Moreno Construction.

Eloy has done some work on our home. A chimney repair was OK (I think), but he replaced our stairs and porch about 6 years ago. There has been leaking from the stairs into our garage which has mold over the walls. We just had an inspection by another company who pointed out all the places there was leaking through the steps. Water proofing to prevent leakage was not adequately done. The stairs and porch were not slanted to along the water to drain. They had to come back and replace several of the stairs that had cracked. Now we have to have the mold in the garage removed and the entire stairs redone at a very high cost. Over the course of using this company, I left many messages that were not returned. I don't know if he took shortcuts to keep the price down but he certainly didn't take the care and time to point out how the framing wood (which he did not replace) was not pressure-treated and could be a problem. If you use this company, be sure to get a very good contract with specifics on how the work will be done.

Eloy and his crew are amazing. I unfortunately made the mistake of hiring the wrong contractor for a remodeling job, we parted ways but I was left with work that was incomplete and some of which was done incorrectly. I didn't know what to do, so I yelped contractors on the Peninsula and came across Moreno Construction. I called Eloy, we chatted about my remodeling project and he was at my house the following day. From the get go I was impressed with his level of knowledge, thoroughness and honesty. I'm extremely detailed oriented, ask tons of questions and Eloy was patient with me as he answered all my question, pointed out everything that needed to be done, how long it would take and he had a quote ready for me the next day. Eloy is a very busy, but he was empathetic about my situation and said he would make some time in his schedule to help me out. Three days later he was at my house with 6 of his guys. I was amazed with the amount and quality of work they were able to get done in such a short period of time. He and his crew take great pride in their work and have made construction into an art form. From now on Moreno Construction is the only contractor I will consider when it comes to any remodeling job at my home.
For some reason my post above was misplaced so I'm posting it again.

Don't call this man unless you have time to waste or a job worth his time i.e you are going to spend more than $10,000. Eloy came out, checked out what we needed, shook our hands, gave us his card and told us he would send us a quote first thing the next a.m..... NOTHING! I called to check a few days later thinking he was busy and he said he was driving and could he call back in 5 minutes...NOTHING!! My phone rang a day later and it was him-when I picked up he hung up. I thought maybe the call was dropped so I called back and left a message asking him to let me know if he was or wasn't interested in the job-NOTHING! Complete disrespect-be an adult and respond-lie even and tell me you don't have time or something...leaving us hanging is just annoying and rude not to mention bad business. Who wants to deal with a person like this??

Single women never get a break when it comes to requesting estimates from contractors. We're stupid af, we don't know better, and we're quite poor.
Eloy came to my new house, I pointed out a number of things I wanted done. He had the nerve to tell me that the kitchen would be the most important part of the work I should focus on. Since when does Eloy know about my lifestyle? Then he raises a concern about cost. Didn't realize he had tapped into my bank account. Typical misogynistic contractor. He promised to deliver an estimate within a week.
THAT WAS WEEKS AGO! Never heard from him again.
(The most important part of the project would've been my OFFICE, btw. I am an engineer.)

EJ just finished a few woodworking projects for us and they turned out great. Every time I walk downstairs and see our revamped kitchen island, I'm thrilled. Our new bathroom shelves look great. And our huge fir worktable is now the perfect size. If you have woodworking projects you've been procrastinating on, call EJ! He's a pleasure to work with and takes pride in his craft.

We used Moreno to handle some work for our TIC to meet requirements for condo conversion. Given the relative simplicity of the work (as opposed to all the major renovations that are taking place in SF), we struggled to get a multiple bids from contractors.
Eloy and team were very responsive and treated us as if we were their best client. Beyond the solid work, excellent contacts within DPW, competitive bid, and timeliness and responsiveness, there was an element of human decency that extended beyond their work. As an example, my elderly parents were carrying some packages up a flight a stairs and one of his guys stopped his work to help them.
I would strongly recommend Moreno and team to handle any job you might have.

Is there a higher rating than 5 stars? If there was, I would certainly give that to Moreno Construction.
I bought a 1925 house in San Francisco that needed a kitchen refresh, a completely new bathroom, the garage opening widened, along with having the entire interior painted, upstairs hardwood floors refinished, and a myriad of other repair/maintenance projects that needed to be taken care of. My interior decorator introduced me to Eloy for the work. His bid was detailed and very fair, and he came highly recommended by her so I felt very comfortable awarding him the projects.
Eloy, Eloy Jr, Melvin, Jesus, and the rest of the crew moved mountains for me. I gave them only about 5 weeks to get things done before I had to move into the house. Eloy said he could tackle everything except the bathroom remodel before I moved in, and would be able to do that about 6 weeks later. He delivered. They worked until 6 or 7pm every day, and several weekends to make sure I could comfortably move in. And also as promised, they came back a little over a month later to do the bathroom remodel. All the work was permitted, and came out beautifully.
I am a single woman, and I was treated fairly and with absolute respect. They have taken incredible care of me and the house. They called all their clients after the last big rain storm to make sure everyone was OK and didn't need any emergency repairs. Not because they were looking to drum up work (they are in demand as it is), but to make sure their long-standing clients were taken care of first. And when I have had an emergency (always unrelated to their work, just old house issues cropping up), someone has come out either the same day or within a day.
This is the 3rd home remodel I've taken on, and Moreno Construction is by far the best contractor I've worked with. I can recommend them without hesitation or reservation.

Moreno construction is the best. My project was not very long, some repair to my deck and the adjacent siding, but they did it quick and it looks like new. I had another contractor out and he spent the whole time trying to sell me on residing the entire house and replacing the deck. Eloy gave me a fair price to fix what needed fixing only and it looks great!
