I've taken on a lot of small electrical projects in my house (light switches, recessed lights). However, when it came to a bathroom fan upgrade, once I read the instructions I knew I bit off more than I could chew.

Thankfully, Modern Electric came to the rescue. They were able to provide a competitive quote over Yelp, were able to come out within a week's time, and got the job done without issue in no time at all.

Will absolutely use them for future electrical needs.

I posted on Yelp and contacted various companies for an electrician to install a 50 amp home inlet and interlock for a portable generator. After sending pictures I received numerous quotes. The company I chose could not do the install for 1 month. Modern Electric (Hector), however had same day availability (which should have been a warning sign). Hector did a great job of promoting his business. Long story short Hector installed an interlock that does not interlock. Either Hector is an incompetent electrician or he is dishonest. His invoice # 1109 indicated he would return to finish the job once he had the parts. He never did. I texted him inquiring about the parts needed, which I knew would be an additional cost. He said they were ordered and he would finish the job when the parts came in. I never heard from Hector for weeks. I texted Hector again. Now he says they dont make the parts (not true) (I thought you ordered them). I got 2 on site estimates, both suggested I not allow Modern Electric - Hector to finish the job. He is probably good for lights, ceiling fans and light bulbs but keep him away from your electrical panel.

Can't say enough good things about Hector - he arrived on time (after an impromptu delay), was incredibly courteous, nice demeanor, knowledgeable, helpful, great with explanations & logic, shared some worthwhile ideas, etc - I wouldn't hesitate for a second to schedule him and/or recommend him - so refreshing nowadays to meet such a respectable individual!

Great service, team and hospitality. Hector came out with his teammate the same morning, and they worked on my wire for free since it just needed to be tied down. We did tip the team, but will call them back as our home needs additional long-term repairs in the future! Of the several vendors, Modern Electric came quickly and was very receptive. I called other vendors who didn't come on time or never responded to our inquiry. Glad we found a professional, reliable electrician!
