I was referred to Modern Century Electric when I picked up my Tesla from the Marina Del Rey delivery facility. I arrived a little earlier than my scheduled pick up time as I had not yet prepared my home for charging an electric vehicle. I picked up a home wall mounted charger and I asked an employee there by the name of Alex if he had anyone he could recommend me to hire to do the install and he referred me to Luis at Modern Century Electric. He promised me that his prices were very fair and more importantly, he knows what he's doing!

I called Luis yesterday in the late afternoon and he said that he would have to swing by and check if the breaker had space available and what options we could take to successfully install the charger. He told me he would arrive there at a certain time and arrived on time.

When he arrived he asked me to show him the breakerbox and asked me where I wanted to mount the charger. After showing him and taking measurements of the distance required, as I wanted the wall mount to be mounted outside the garage, he gave me a ballpark figure which I thought was very fair for the amount of work required, and the distance (60w at over 23ft).

He told me he could come by tomorrow morning at 10:30 and install it. The following day Luis and his colleagues Oscar, and Fermin arrived and commenced the installation. The whole install took a little over three hours and I have to say that I am thoroughly impressed by the quality of work that they have done, including patching up the wall and painting the pipe.

The wall mount looks incredibly sleek mounted on the outside of the garage as Luis, Oscar, and Fermin installed the cable through the wall (see attached photos for more details.)

I get 32 miles of charge per hour currently which is incredible! I highly recommend Luis and Modern Century Electric for not only your EV/Tesla charging needs, but for all your home electric necessities as well!

TL;DR Look no further for your Tesla/EV charging needs. They know what they're doing.

It's not very often you find a contractor type who you immediately trust and respect. These guys were exactly that, trustworthy, honest, and nice as hell. Young and ambitious, not old and grumpy like some electricians. These are absolutely my go to guys for electrical work from here on in. They did an impeccable job installing my Tesla charging outlet. I don't generally choose my handyman on price alone, I usually pick the people I trust, it just so happened these guys had the best price as well!

The one quality about Luis that is different from most people I deal with is that he communicates really well. He updates you throughout the whole process. Not only does Luis communicate, he is also punctual and does some great work. He installed a nice tesla wall charging unit for me. I'm also going to be using Luis to light up my backyard. This company was highly recommended by a friend...called Raul for a quote for a Tesla 14-50 outlet installation, got a great price compared to others out there. We set up an appointment for the next day and he was prompt and delivered as promised. These guys are certified pros and know what their doing not to mention friendly.
