Matt made a service call to fix a broken garage door earlier this week for the home warranty company. Was rude and basically accused us of causing the broken garage door. He claimed that he fixed the issue and again today the garage door is not functioning. Just read the long list of poor reviews below and wish I had seen them before we allowed Matt to step foot in our house.

Update: another electrician came and fixed us up real quick. Again, thanks for nothing.

The worst experiance that I have ever had with any company. Their technician Matt is a total disappointment considering his lack of the basic knowledge about the work that he is supposed to do and apsolutelly unprofessional follow up and treatment of the customer.
Matt was sent by the First American home warranty to fix the problem with the rusted and failed GFCI for the pool lights. He quicly looked at the GFCI, told me that he knows what is the problem and that has to call First American to check for the coverage. I did not tell him that I am an electrical engineer, but asked him what the problem was. He told me that there is a dead short in the ground, that I will have to trim or cut the small tree in front of some swithces at the other end of the house so that he would have a clean acces to them, etc. He left and told me that will call me back.
After 20 minutes I got a call from the First American and they told me that my claim was denied based on Matt's report. When I asked them for the details, they told me that he claimed that he has to dig to get to the underground conduits to find the dead short, that he does not have proper access to some switches, etc. and that it would cost $800, hence the claim was denied. I told them that is not correct since only the failed GFCI, which is above the ground, has to be replaced together with the rusted box which is fully accessible. They told me that I could call, at my expense, another licensed company for the second oppinion if I think that Matt's report was not correct.
I called Matt several times and left him voice messages to call me back to resolve this issue, but he never ever called back.
After that, I called the Hi Power Electric (really a great company, recommended by a friend), their guy George came right on time, looked at the problem, replaced the GFCI and the rusted box, tested the pool lights, and everything worked perfectly fine. All that was done professionaly and at the very low cost.
Now, I am waiting to hear from the First American about resolution of my claim, and hope that they would find a better company than MK Electric to spare their customers from unnecessary wasting of time and money.

I am not one of those people who leaves negative yelp reviews, if someone does a decent job they get 5 stars.
First American sent out MK Construction and I could not be more displeased. If you hire a contractor or electrician you want them to respond to your calls and be up front with you, they are neither.
He came out and looked at the problem, and after an hour said he knew the problem and had to call it in to First American. I asked what the problem was and he would not say because he wanted to see what was covered in order to see how he would fix it. He said he would be in touch with me shortly. I left him 2 voicemails on Monday and 1 on Tuesday. I finally had to email him and got a response.
The issue was that I had the dishwasher and the garbage disposal plugged into the same wall outlet and the top outlet was not working. He reported the problem as being a lack of capacity for the dishwasher which is true, but he left out the part where the bottom outlet remains functional and the top outlet will not function.
The way he reported the problem made it clear that First American would not cover the problem (which is actually debateable if you include all relevant facts), but he led me to believe that he would to avoid dealing with a customer and caused me to remain at my house all day Saturday waiting for someone to call (yes I tried to call him).
After talking to First American they are going to send out another electrician free of charge to see if they would cover fixing the top outlet. They are also refunding me the $60 for the service charge.
So to summarize, he collected $60, and did not have the decency to tell me he intended to report the problem in a way making it incredibly obvious the problem would not be covered. Instead he opted to not deal with me, said he would be in touch shortly, and I never received a call.
I can not stress this point enough, his service was so deplorable that First American is going to pay me back his $60, and pay another electrician to come out free of charge. If anyone here has dealt with First American they barely answer the phone, yet they felt that MK was so bad they opted to take a $120 loss on the incident.

Matt did an outstanding job. He is professional and know what he is doing. I will call him again and recommend him to my neighbors.

First American sent Matt out to my house, and surprise surprise, he fixed nothing... claiming that there was nothing wrong. He then quoted me a price to install my shower door (he says he a ""contractor"") for $125.00. He installed the door, then claimed he didn't understand the company's instructions and where the extra pieces go. He charged me $175.00, I didn't argue because he spent a couple hours and I thought that was fair and I was getting a deal. So after waiting 24 hours for the silicone to set, the shower door leaks like nobodies business. I have called 5 times and he will not call me back. I suggest everyone file a complaint against his license number with the State Licensing Board or Better Business Bureau

Absolutely the worst . He does not return calls, including text messages. He was assigned to us by First American Home Warranty, but would not bother to call to make appointment.
I left him over 5 messages and 6 text messages. No call back at all, even after leaving him a message that I would report him to FAHW.
Seems like he does not care and does not know what customer service really should be about.
If for whatever reason, if he is busy, he should have the courtesy to to return call & give his reasons.
Just nit right!!

The worst service you will EVER experience in your life. MATT is rude, condescending and will spend 1.2 minutes in your house NOT explaining anything to you. Will get your signature and will not leave you any copies and will not answer your follow up phone calls.
Stay away from this company. Do not use them. I don't know why our home owner's insurance company is using this guy and this company. They will not fix a thing in your house.

First American sent MK electric &?Construction (Matt) to my house, tried to fix the sockets power off problem. He did not fix any problem, he even could not find the problem, just simply called the home warranty company said it was not covered by the home warranty. waste time and useless.

I don't know what happened to the first two reviewers but Matt is the exact opposite of what they claim. He was VERY knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I felt he went above and beyond and did an excellent job.
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND MK ELECTRIC & CONSTRUCTION!!!!
I will definitely use him again!
