This has been a while coming and I apologize for not getting it out there sooner.

Tri Electric is by far one of the best contractors we have ever worked with. Jose Trinidad is incredibly savvy and treats his electrical work as a craft. He is friendly and very professional. He is very well informed with the most current techniques, tools, and regulations, including knowing a lot of various town inspection expectations. His work is very finished and neat. Other contractors that have been to our house have glowingly admired his work.

Jose rescued us from another contractor's failed work (It is a separate review in Yelp). So he was already at a disadvantage as far as I am concerned. He was actually one of about twelve contractors who bid on our job. The only reason we did not choose him in the beginning is because his quote was not a detailed list of work and items. And the contractor who got the original work was very detailed. Almost down to the last screw (Unfortunately, we took that to mean he would be anal in his work, and he wasn't). But Jose was.

Anyhow, Jose came in and honored his original quote. Never said ""I told you so"" or any other negatives. He basically ran all new electrical throughout our house, which was built in 1922. And the hardest part is that the house is made of reinforced cinder block. That made his life difficult. He also installed hard-wired smoke and CO2 detectors, lots of light fixtures, track lights, and moved an entire new panel from the outside to the inside of the house. He then put up several security lights on the outside of the house.

All of this was done to code. The inspector was very pleased with his work. Jose also did what he could to minimize damage. He had to make some hand-sized holes in order to run some of the lines. Keep in mind that he had to work with a cinder block house that basically has no studs inside. A lot of the rooms are plastered or cement right on top of the outer brick. So he couldn't just find studs to drill through in order to pass lines in a wall. He'd had to either reuse existing holes in the cement, or get creative. And he did a marvelous job.

Jose pretty much works on his own. He arrives when he says he will and puts in full days. We still cannot believe how nicely all our new cabling is run. Nothing funky. No shortcuts. Book him way ahead of time. We cannot say enough about him and we highly, highly recommend him.

I used Tri Electric on a complete home wiring replacement (including service panel) on a house I was renovating. Jose installed all new wiring and new outlets in accordance with updated codes, consolidated our three (yes three!) old service panels into one new main panel, and added several additional fixtures including a few in the ceiling. Compared to the other bids we received his work was reasonably priced and he did a great job. I highly recommend Jose.

A home we rent out had a circuit that had gone dead--two bedrooms and a bathroom (lights and outlets). Jose was on time, totally competent, and did in one hour what another electrician told us would take 4 hours (and the other electrician told us he wouldn't have 4 hours to give us for at least 10 days). He let us know about long term concerns (bathroom isn't on its own circuit), but not in an pushy, upselling way. His rates were very reasonable and his phone and text communication was excellent. Three cheers for Jose and Tri Electric!

After reading the glowing reviews on Yelp, I called Jose at Tri Electric to come out and give us a quote for an equipment install in Oakland. I called and called and left messages on his voicemail. I left detailed messages with my phone number. I gave him the benefit of the doubt when he didn't call back, because I am sure he's a busy guy. I called him again a day or two later, same thing - never received a call back.

How arrogant and unprofessional! He's missed out on a $3500 install job.

I've been using Tr-Electric since I moved into my delicately-wired Oakland bungalow seven years ago. The owner, Jose, is everything you can ask for in a service provider: responsive, prompt, respectful, honest, fast, etc. I've hired him for both home and business projects and he is one of the only repair professionals I can unconditionally recommend. He does what he says he's going to do, and he always finds a way to make a solution workable. Just as other reviews state: service doesn't get any better than this!

Was able to come by very promptly to take a look at our electrical system in a new house, and provided a very reasonable quote for a relatively small job (new wiring for a washer and dryer) - took time to explain what was needed and scheduled a date for the work. But then - 24 hours before he was scheduled to arrive - he cancelled, saying nothing more than ""I have costumers who want projects to be done before the holliday's"". Now we have no electrician ... if you are looking for someone reliable, I'm afraid you should look elsewhere.

My sump pump in the basement no longer works properly. It keeps shutting itself off. Last week it stopped working altogether. I'm suspecting a faulty outlet but can't be sure since I don't know much about electrical outlet. Nothing looks bad from my visual inspection around the surrounding, including the sump pump itself. Anyhow, I have never hired an electrician for a job like this before, so after some online researches, I found Jose of Tri Electric in Yelp. He has decent number of reviews and all of them are very positive. So I called him and told him my story. At the end he quoted me a price for an onsite visit and I agreed. At the time of our call, he only had 6 pm opening which worked best for me since I wouldn't be available any time sooner. However, if it's not a late evening appointment, I would have to wait several weeks for a daytime one.

Jose showed up early and waited outside of my house. After we introduced ourselves, I showed him the area where the sump pump located. He began his work by following the electrical wire to the breaker and opened its panel to inspect. Nothing went wrong there. Then he dismantled the outlet and found some burn marks around it. When he took the wires out from the GFI, they were blackened as well. Apparently it was the problem. The outlet used was not the correct type to handle the sump pump plus my washer which was connected to it too. He replaced all the necessaries and everything worked the way it should. It all took less than 45 minutes to complete.

I will recommend Jose to anyone who needs electrical work done at their house. He is courteous and knowledgeable His workmanship and professionalism are of high regards. I will definitely use him again in the future.
