I've been using Tr-Electric since I moved into my delicately-wired Oakland bungalow seven years ago. The owner, Jose, is everything you can ask for in a service provider: responsive, prompt, respectful, honest, fast, etc. I've hired him for both home and business projects and he is one of the only repair professionals I can unconditionally recommend. He does what he says he's going to do, and he always finds a way to make a solution workable. Just as other reviews state: service doesn't get any better than this!

Was able to come by very promptly to take a look at our electrical system in a new house, and provided a very reasonable quote for a relatively small job (new wiring for a washer and dryer) - took time to explain what was needed and scheduled a date for the work. But then - 24 hours before he was scheduled to arrive - he cancelled, saying nothing more than ""I have costumers who want projects to be done before the holliday's"". Now we have no electrician ... if you are looking for someone reliable, I'm afraid you should look elsewhere.

My sump pump in the basement no longer works properly. It keeps shutting itself off. Last week it stopped working altogether. I'm suspecting a faulty outlet but can't be sure since I don't know much about electrical outlet. Nothing looks bad from my visual inspection around the surrounding, including the sump pump itself. Anyhow, I have never hired an electrician for a job like this before, so after some online researches, I found Jose of Tri Electric in Yelp. He has decent number of reviews and all of them are very positive. So I called him and told him my story. At the end he quoted me a price for an onsite visit and I agreed. At the time of our call, he only had 6 pm opening which worked best for me since I wouldn't be available any time sooner. However, if it's not a late evening appointment, I would have to wait several weeks for a daytime one.

Jose showed up early and waited outside of my house. After we introduced ourselves, I showed him the area where the sump pump located. He began his work by following the electrical wire to the breaker and opened its panel to inspect. Nothing went wrong there. Then he dismantled the outlet and found some burn marks around it. When he took the wires out from the GFI, they were blackened as well. Apparently it was the problem. The outlet used was not the correct type to handle the sump pump plus my washer which was connected to it too. He replaced all the necessaries and everything worked the way it should. It all took less than 45 minutes to complete.

I will recommend Jose to anyone who needs electrical work done at their house. He is courteous and knowledgeable His workmanship and professionalism are of high regards. I will definitely use him again in the future.

Because of all these favorable reviews on YELP I called TRI Electric for an emergency fix - he honestly told me he could not come out for the emergency that particular week because he was busy but I did call him back for an estimate on a circuit breaker conversion from an ancient fuse box. Excellent estimate, finished & cleaned up in a timely manner - even told me I had a disfunctional heater vent when he was under the house doing wiring (which PGE had to shut off) & even grounded my water heater. Excellent work Jose!

New washer and dryer delivered...but wait, the outlet is not up to code! Read the Yelp reviews, and called Jose at Tri Electric. He could actually squeeze me in and was at my house in 30 minutes. He changed the outlet, offered friendly suggestions on work I intended to do and was done lickety-split. Great service, and a VERY kind man. Guess whose name is going down in my cell phone under ""Electrician""? Jose Trinidad!

I've used Jose for two projects now, and recommend him very highly. The first project was fairly small, installing wiring for my dryer, and he was prompt, thorough and got the job done in the time he estimated. I'm now doing some remodeling, and have had do do some rewiring. I was happy to call him back. Again, he's been doing a good job (my brother-in-law is a contractor, and has been impressed with the work), and (no small thing for us homeowners), he always returns my calls, and keeps in touch.

Jose just installed a ceiling fan in a bedroom. In short, his and his assistant's work was outstanding. As others have said, he was punctual, respectful, efficient, polite, trustworthy, very clean (covered the work area nicely with plastic), and did a fabulous job installing the fan. I bought an inexpensive fan, and as such, it was missing a balancing kit which the manufacturer should have included. But Jose worked around it and got it to balance properly anyway. He spent some time answering questions I had about another unrelated issue as well. After this job, I can't imagine ever hiring another electrician, because his work was top notch!

My husband and I have hired Tri Electric (Jose Trinidad) several times. We have a 100 year old bungalow that is a challenge to update. Thankfully we found Jose on Angie's List and he has been wonderful to work with. He returns emails and phone calls promptly, he is on time, he is beyond neat in the work area, he explains what he is doing, he is very experienced so I trust his suggestions completely, he never complains, he is patient with all of our questions, and above all of that, his rates are right on. So fair and honest. He usually brings a helper with him and I have found all of them to be as courteous and thoughtful as Jose. Such a breath of fresh air compared to some other contractors etc we have hired in the past.

I would not hesitate to recommend Jose with any electrical job you may have. You will not be disappointed and you can be sure that the work completed is done the right way within the budget that you may have.

Thank-you for making life easier for us Jose. It's such a relief to know that there are business owners out there that take pride in their work, and give you way more than you expected.
