My name is Manuel, though folks around here call me Manny, which I really enjoy! I started my electrical career in Cuba at the age of 20; it quickly became clear that I had a passion for it, prompting me to attend school and obtain my license. Once I finished my electrician training, I worked for a major company in Cuba that compensated me with only $10 a month—believe it or not, just $10 monthly. After five years of earning that wage, I made the bold decision to risk everything and cross the ocean on a homemade boat with 11 friends. Two weeks later, we arrived in Key Largo, and I felt like I had been given a second chance at life. I quickly relocated to Miami for a year, then to Orlando, where I kicked off my career with Terry’s Electric, a great company that paid for my education for four years. Upon completing my education, I obtained my journeyman license, and after two years, I pursued my state license. Ultimately, after six months of dedication and long nights of studying, I successfully passed my test to become a Certified Electrician.
