My name is Manuel, though folks around here call me Manny, which I really enjoy! I began my journey in electrical work in Cuba when I was just 20 years old; it didn’t take long for me to realize my passion for it, so I enrolled in school to earn my license. After my education, I took a job with a big company in Cuba, earning only $10 a month—yes, that’s right, just $10! After five years of working for that amount, I decided to take a leap of faith and risk my life to cross the ocean on a makeshift boat that I built with 11 friends. Two weeks later, we arrived in Key Largo, and I felt like I had been given a second chance at life. I quickly relocated to Miami for a year, then to Orlando, where I kicked off my career with Terry’s Electric, a great company that paid for my education for four years. After finishing my schooling, I sought my journeyman license, and two years later, I aimed for my state license. Ultimately, after six months of dedication and long nights of studying, I successfully passed my test to become a Certified Electrician.
