Lights Out
Company Overview
Lighting has been a family tradition for 35 years. I have spent 21 years immersed in the lighting industry. I handle all aspects of lighting, including installations, repairs, restorations, recessed layouts, low voltage track, and troubleshooting. Additionally, I take on smaller electrical projects. For any lighting or small electrical inquiries, give me a call.
I began my journey in my family's lighting business at the age of 12. I started this company roughly 14 years ago, concentrating on installing lights and making small repairs. I loved the work, and calls kept coming in. Six years back, I wisely decided to hire my two right-hand men, and they continue to deliver outstanding results. We are experts in lighting, remodels, and addressing electrical issues.
Having grown up in a lighting business, I acquired knowledge from maintaining the parking lot to rewiring lights and aiding clients in designing their home lighting. After that, I attended college in NYC and began a career in advertising, which lasted roughly two years until the dot-com bubble collapsed. Ultimately, I returned to my true passion. For 14 years, I have committed myself to this work, helping thousands of happy clients, many of whom still call.

Spent a bit more than $800 with this outfit two years ago, and today only 50% of the install is functional. The equipment they installed without asking my concurrence is from eastern europe and is a generation behind current tech (who installs halogen anymore?). Nothing we requested was complicated, just outdoor fixtures for the deck, and a mission-critical outlet to drive my irrigation system, but despite return visit, it's all bogus, just finished trying to replace two burnmed-out halogens on this cheap gear, not fun. Lights ""Out"" indeed.

Brett was great! Our dishwasher started throwing the breaker it was on. I wrote in the morning, he got right back to me with some suggestions for how to test things out myself. None of that panned out. He came on the same day, exactly when he said he would. Turns out that we had a leak a while ago which led to a corroded wire. I'd never have figured that out myself. Brett fixed the wiring and made a few other suggestions for energy efficiency as well. I strongly recommend Brett and Lights Out.

Brett's nice, reliable, and a good communicator. His price was considerably less than an estimate I got from a competitor who also had a really good Yelp review. Brett did all the work without any interruptions, which I really care about when paying by the hour. And although he was late, he did call to tell me that and gave me a pretty good estimate of when he'd arrive (about 60-90 minutes later). He also had a colleague drop something off to him at my house to save time. I had a good experience, and plan to set up future work with Lights Out.

Brett responded very promptly and made time for the job right away. He did the job efficiently and explained things clearly. He was willing to work around our short-term rental guest and he came back when he said he would and called before coming. His rate was a little more than some rates quoted me and less than one rate. I would definitely call him again!

Brett solved my problem over the phone, he went out of his way to diagnose the problem. Fixed my fuse issue with an extra Flip of the switch till I got the click.

Thanks guys!

Easy to communicate with. Brett and Felix are friendly, thorough and did great work putting up my chandelier just in time for the Holidays. I'm so glad I found them and will be using them in the near future for my other electrical needs.

Working with Brett was like working with a professional family friend, in a nutshell. I worked with him to install around 9 recessed lights, refurbish 7 more, and install 7 or so light fixtures.
From day one Brett was a very honest and had our best interests in mind, recommending to us light newbies that we REDUCE the number of requested lights by half because we didn't need to fill every inch with light. He was upfront about everything he was going to do, and extremely flexible and professional even when talking about sensitive issues such as quotes and pricing. He gives you a list of options to choose from like a menu, with costs and everything. So convenient.
In fact we felt so comfortable we went ahead and got some more lights in place we planned to do in the future, because why not?
Everything went to schedule, Brett and Shad are professionals, did an amazing job, my wife can't believe how 'light' things are, and I still can't figure out how they got a recessed light in that ceiling like 20 feet above the ground!

Wonderful service! Very professional and very efficient and Brett explained everything. Best light I've had in my house in 30+ years! I'd highly recommend.

I would caution anyone thinking of hiring this vendor to think carefully about their $200 minimum. If you unsure of how long the job will entail or need help diagnosing the issue, I would not recommend this company. In my experience, they came out and said the original doorbell would never work because wires behind it were cut during a renovation and the (what we thought was temporary) inexpensive plastic doorbell was wireless and just needed a new battery. Time spent on job was about 8 minutes. We had a battery on hand and simply replaced it when we learned the real doorbell could never work again.
